40s
“But I remind you once again, when the sun is going down and you feel yourself beset, and you are in that dark place in the night, and you feel the flaming darts of the evil one coming upon you, all you need to do is call upon the name of Jesus. And whatever reality there is to these things, however psychological they are, whatever their actual status is, the truth holds that Christ has authority over all the spiritual forces of wickedness and shares that authority with us, and it is uncontestable.”
38s
“That, my friends, is an extraordinary freedom. Jesus Christ gives us the freedom to say no when spiritual forces of wickedness crop up even in our own hearts, that we do not have to be defined by the most heinous impulses of corrupted human nature, that we can actually claim the authority of Jesus over these powers, over these principalities, over these wickednesses, over these ideas, and say, no. We do not need to be defined by them.”
