#TheologyMattersNow
“``Because I think we have to decide as Christians which one of these arcs, which one of these understandings of God provides the foundation for our lives. And it's not it doesn't work for us to say, well, there's there's Christians who can be on both sides of this This theological debate that we're talking about today, right now, is the reason why the holy lands are at war and being torn to pieces. This debate is the reason why Christian nationalists today are tearing our country apart. This theological lesson, this lesson from the sea, it sits at the core of whether our ever growing diverse world can survive together or whether we will devour one another.”

#AllAreOneInChrist
“the religious leaders back home, they don't like this. And so they recall Peter and Paul from the mission field. And they say, boys, what are you doing? We talked about a little family boutique religious movement that would touch the Jews, and you're allowing the Gentiles And Peter's his response is beautiful because he says, I know. I don't get it either. I don't like the Gentiles either. And I don't think that God should welcome the Gentiles either. But somehow, when the Gentiles say they wanna follow Christ, the spirit comes upon them is the same way it does upon our family. So, apparently, God wants this to happen. So Peter says, who am I to stand in the way of God? And Paul says, I know it's as if there is no Jew or Greek anymore. There is no male or female anymore. There is no slave or or free anymore. They all are the same in god's eyes in Christ.”

“So there's two sides. Right? One side that says, god is with us. God is for us. And as we look back in history, we we can understand why this persecuted, group of Jewish people came to that understanding amidst great oppression, that it was a helpful sort of theological understanding for them. But then Jesus says later, you know, it's not just that god is for us, it is that god is for all.”

“And so Christians today in the world in which we live, we have to discover which one is our truth, Which is the best understanding of God that is going to serve to build a world of justice and righteousness? Which is the best understanding of God that is going to show people who Christ And for a time such as this, I think that this may be the most important lesson of the sea.”
