1. "What does it look like to follow Jesus? And that's really what the Sermon on the Mount is, is a picture for us of what it practically looks like to be followers of Jesus Christ. And so I hope it's been good. But over these next couple of weeks, Jesus is going to kind of teach us in a way that if you don't really understand it, it may even seem a little rude almost. But he's going to do this thing where he says, basically, you've got two choices." [01:39] (28 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "There is a broad way to destruction and a narrow way to life. There's these two, these are our first two options that Jesus is going to bring to us. He says, first of all, there's, there's these two ways. And I think it's very fitting because the last couple of chapters and the last six or eight weeks that we've been in this series, Jesus has told us like, there's a contrast between how the world lives and how followers of Jesus live." 3. "Most people who are on the Broadway, I kind of compare it to this. They have a really wide stance. Their stance is really wide. And that's why the path is so broad because it has to be because everybody is walking and standing really broadly with their feet really apart. You know why? Because they have one foot in heaven and one foot on the earth. They have one foot that's trying to follow Jesus, but they have another foot that wants to live however they want to live." 4. "Following Jesus can be hard. Can we normalize that? Like, I feel like sometimes you go to church and everybody just makes it sound so easy. They make it sound so perfect. If you just follow Jesus, everything in your life is going to just add up and be perfect. And guys, that's actually not what Jesus himself said. Jesus said, actually, the path that leads to life is going to be hard." [20:00] (28 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "Jesus sets us free from double-minded living. You don't have to live a double life anymore. You can just go. Fall in to following Jesus. No more masks, no more fakeness. But guys, that way is narrow. And that leads us to the narrow way. If you're taking notes, the next path I want to talk about is the narrow way. Now, Jesus says the narrow way is hard. Everyone say hard." [18:29] (29 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "Jesus doesn't want your life to end up in the gutter. So Jesus has provided protection for you. And that protection often comes in the form of community. The bumpers in our lives are community. See, the way is narrow. And I'm going to be honest with you. I don't like narrow spaces. This week I'm going out of town. I'm going to be flying on a plane. I don't like planes. Most of the reason I don't like planes is because they're small and you're stuck there." [24:28] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

7. "Jesus gives you a new heart that now wants him more than your sin. Like that's the life of a follower of Jesus is that our desires change. Our wants change. So it's not a, I have to leave my sin behind to follow Jesus. It's a, I get to leave this old baggage behind. It was doing me no good. And Jesus takes it from me and says, we don't need to worry about this anymore. Let's get on to the straight and narrow path that leads to life." 8. "You only get to heaven through the blood, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That's it. Like we have to believe in him. Jesus took the punishment and our part is trusting that. Like Jesus did the hard work. He was punished for our disobedience. We don't have to make up for our disobedience, but we do have to trust. And if we trust Jesus enough, to save our soul from hell, then we can trust him enough to live life his way." [28:58] (50 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "Jesus says we've got to pick a path. And guys, listen to me. I'm not trying to manipulate you. I'm not trying to twist your arm. I'm just trying to be faithful with God's Word. I didn't pick this today. We've been going through this passage. But if you're here today, I believe God wants you to hear this. And I just want to ask you, maybe today is the day that you need to choose. You need to stop straddling the narrow way and the broad way." 10. "Jesus says, be really careful about those people because they look like sheep. They look like the shepherd that's taking care of you. But inside, they're wolves. Well, the wolf is the enemy of the sheep. Like literally, a sheep's greatest enemy is the wolf. And guys, like Jesus is saying, one of the greatest enemies for your faith and for the church are false teachers. Jesus wants us to know that these false teachers are a problem."
