From the very beginning, the foundation of Impact Church was laid through persistent, united prayer, not through human strategy or strength. The story of this church is a testimony to the truth that God births and sustains His church through the prayers of ordinary people who are utterly dependent on Him. When we recognize our powerlessness apart from God and continually seek Him in prayer, we open ourselves to see Him do what only He can do—transform lives, build community, and advance His kingdom. Let us remember that the most significant movements of God begin not with our plans, but with our knees bowed in humble dependence. [37:52]
Acts 2:42-47 (ESV)
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to move from self-reliance to prayerful dependence on God this week? Will you commit to bringing it before Him daily in prayer?
Making disciples is not reserved for professionals or those with special training; it is the calling of every follower of Jesus to do normal things with gospel intentions. Whether at the playground, on campus, at work, or in your neighborhood, God uses ordinary people in ordinary places to share His extraordinary love. When we intentionally build relationships and look for opportunities to point others to Jesus, we participate in the ancient and ongoing mission of the church. The gospel is not meant to be confined to Sunday mornings but lived out in every aspect of our lives. [01:08:07]
Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Reflection: Who is one person in your daily routine you can intentionally encourage or share the love of Jesus with this week?
Church is not defined by a Sunday worship service or a physical location, but by a community of people devoted to Jesus and to one another. The early church gathered in homes, shared meals, met needs, and lived out their faith together throughout the week. True church happens as we make disciples, form authentic relationships, and multiply communities that reflect the love and mission of Jesus. Our gatherings are a celebration of what God is doing in and through us, not the sum total of our faith. [01:02:34]
Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Reflection: How can you intentionally invest in your church community outside of Sunday this week—perhaps by reaching out, serving, or sharing a meal with someone?
No matter what you are facing—loneliness, temptation, fear, doubt, or spiritual stagnation—Jesus understands and has overcome it all. He knows the depths of human experience, from betrayal to death, and He offers hope, victory, and new life to all who come to Him. The gospel is not just good news for the world; it is good news for you, right where you are. Jesus invites you to bring your burdens, questions, and struggles to Him, trusting that He is able to meet you with grace and power. [01:08:07]
Hebrews 4:14-16 (ESV)
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Reflection: What is one specific struggle or fear you need to bring honestly to Jesus today, trusting Him to meet you in it?
God’s vision for His church is far greater than anything we could ask or imagine. When we are rooted and grounded in His love, strengthened by His Spirit, and committed to His purposes, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more through us than we could ever accomplish on our own. The call is to trust Him, take our next step of faith, and give Him glory in every generation. As we look to the future, let us pray boldly, serve faithfully, and expect God to move in ways that only He can. [01:13:00]
Ephesians 3:14-21 (ESV)
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Reflection: What is one bold prayer or next step you sense God calling you to take for His kingdom, trusting that He can do more than you imagine?
Today marks four years of God’s faithfulness and power at work among us. As we look back, it’s clear that what has happened here is not because of our size, resources, or expertise, but because of the greatness of our God. From sending nearly 20 people on international mission, to launching new church plants, to serving the overlooked in our own city, we have seen God do more than we could have imagined. Our story is not about building a name for ourselves, but about making much of Jesus and joining Him in His mission—locally and globally.
The foundation of everything we do is prayer. This church was birthed in prayer, with people gathering on Zoom at 7 a.m. each week before we ever met in person. Even in the chaos of a pandemic, God called us to step out in faith, trusting that He would build His church. We didn’t start with a Sunday service; we started by making disciples, building relationships, and sharing the hope of Jesus in everyday places—parks, coffee shops, and campuses. As disciples multiplied, community groups formed, and only then did we gather for worship as a larger body.
What makes this community unique is not a pursuit of novelty, but a return to the ancient, biblical pattern of church life. Acts 2 describes a church devoted to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, generosity, and worship. We are not trying to be trendy or relevant; we are seeking to be faithful to what the church has always been—a people transformed by the gospel, living out the love and mission of Jesus together.
No matter where you are today—lonely, struggling with sin, fearful, doubting, or even spiritually stagnant—Jesus is the answer. He knows your pain, your temptations, your fears, and your doubts, and He has overcome them all. The invitation is to take your next step: whether it’s baptism, joining a community group, serving, or simply saying “yes” to whatever God is calling you to do. Our prayer is that we would be rooted and grounded in love, empowered by the Spirit, and that God would do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or imagine, for His glory through all generations.

Making disciples is normal people doing normal things with gospel intentions. That's it. If you're going to the playground go to the playground like nobody's asking you to be like something you're not. No one's asking you to totally like do normal things if you're a student walk around campus be normal go study be a part of groups go do socials but everything you do be normal do normal things but do it with gospel intentions. Some of you are here today and you're lonely and I want you to know that the one that we preach the one we proclaim Jesus he knows what it's like to be betrayed by a friend. Judas betrayed him for some cash and he was crucified. Jesus knows what it's like to be crucified and mocked and killed and abandoned by everyone who told him they would be with him till the ends they all ran away from him and so what I'm saying is go to the one who understands your loneliness and can do something about it because even though Jesus knows loneliness he defeated loneliness on the cross. [01:10:07] (47 seconds) #JesusUnderstandsLoneliness
Some of you came in today and you have sinned like you believe in Jesus you believe in God but you cannot kick your old life like those old habits come in strong man and I'm here to tell you Jesus knows what it's like to be tempted with everything you and I are tempted with the difference is he knows what it's like to reign victorious over that temptation in ways that you and I cannot so when you are feeling tempted and discouraged and feeling like man did the gospel do anything in my life go to Jesus hide behind him because he is the one who defeated sin. [01:10:54] (44 seconds) #VictoryOverTemptation
There are those of us who are fearful you are scared of death you are scared of failure you are scared of being alone for the rest of your life like you just live in fear and you need to go to the one Jesus who faced fear like the greatest fear you can have is death and Jesus walked right into death and then walked right through it because three days later Jesus rose from the dead so he faced the greatest fear you and I can have and came out on the other end just to look you in the eye today and say this it's going to be okay and he knows because he's already seen it he has seen your tomorrow and has told you don't worry about tomorrow. [01:11:38] (51 seconds) #FearlessInChrist
Some of you are like I've been following Jesus 40 years but you've been stagnant for 20 of them the way you get out of that is a relationship with Jesus like Jesus is the answer for all of us. [01:13:36] (16 seconds) #RenewWithJesus
We are going to see a lot of change in this world but the one thing that will never change is that Jesus is building his church and the gates of hell will never come against it and stop it and a hundred billion years from now corporations won't be around American democracy won't be around we won't be around but the church will the saved people of Jesus will be the only ones left standing a hundred billion years from now. [01:14:11] (33 seconds) #ChurchUnstoppable
Would you like to be a part of a church like that then let's be that church let's be that church so what's your next step today what's your next step do some of you need to be baptized do some of you need to go all in in your relationship with Jesus do some of you need to say I need to learn how to make disciples of Jesus do some of you need to step up put your yes on the table God I'll go where you send me and I'll say what you tell me to say do some of you need to be a part of starting more churches and making more disciples what's your next step let's let's ask him who can do exceedingly abundantly more than we ask or think according to his power at work within us to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever amen.
