#SpiritEmpoweredTransformation
“It's scary because Peter says you got no excuse. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life. You don't need any more skill. You don't need more talent. You don't need circumstances to change. Some of you guys are like, well, it's just the way I am. Well, that's that's fine, but it's not the way he is, and he lives inside of you. And so he can still do a deep work on the inside of you even if you're like, it's just the way I am. Like, you're not too far gone. Nobody's drifted too far. Can I just tell you, everything that you need as a follower of Jesus, he has given us, and we are participants in his divine power by the power of the Holy Spirit? To to to remind you today that the Christian life is not about self improvement. It's spirit empowered transformation. You're not alone.”

#GraceThatEmpowers
“But let me give you a better working definition of grace. Because sometimes I don't think we fully understand it. Grace is not only God's favor toward us when we didn't deserve it. Grace is God's empowering presence working within us through the Holy Spirit transforming our capacity to obey, to endure suffering, and to do the work he's called us to do. This is why Elisha could run out in front of a chariot, Ahab's chariot, supernaturally. Why? Because the spirit of God increases his capacity. I”

#KnowChristCrucified
“Because when we first get saved, we have a very limited view at conversion of God's holiness and our sinfulness. We're like, yeah. We know God is holy, but we really have no clue. And we're like, yeah. We know we're sinful, but we really don't know to the degree. But as we grow in our relationship with God, all of a sudden, we start to recognize, oh, dude, you're super holy, super good, super wonders, and I'm terrible. And that gap as we grow in our relationship with them gets bigger and bigger and bigger. And this is why the cross should never get old, but gets sweeter and sweeter and sweeter and sweeter. And this is why Paul would say Paul would say in first Corinthians chapter two, he would say, hey. Listen. I come to you to know nothing except Christ and him crucified.”

#GodInUs
“But but I want you to get this picture. The Holy Spirit lives on the inside of you as a follower of Jesus. Think about who lives inside of you. The one who is omnipresent, always present at all times everywhere, sanctified. He indwells us. He produces fruit. He regenerates us. He teaches us. He reminds us. He intercedes us. He re assures us of our adoption that we belong to God. He gives us gifts of the spirit to be a gift to one another and to the world. He resurrects. He seals us to the day of redemption. He empowers us. He liberates us. He's eternal. He convicts. He's holy. He's omniscient. He knows all things. It's not God with us. It's God in us, Christ in us, the hope of glory. That is amazing.”

#HiddenDrift
“And so so if you're taking notes, want you to jot this down because it's important, is that visible failure is usually the final stage of a long process of hidden drift. See, the danger of drift is, again, you don't crash in a moment. It's a settling over a period of time where then you wake up one day and you're like, how in the world did I get here? Like, I don't I don't even know where where did I lose my bearings?”

#BeholdFirst
“Now when I heard this when I was growing up in church, I always just heard, you better present your bodies. Living sacrifices, your call to it. And that's awesome, but that's not where Paul starts. Paul doesn't start with trying harder. He starts with beholding better. In view of his mercy, in view of the gospel, in view of God's grace, in view of the fact, one of the greatest mercies that God has filled you with his spirit. In light of all that God has given us in the gospel, see, this was not, again, just a mental ascent. Paul's saying, think about everything that he's given us and all the implications of that.”

#NoOneDriftsToGrowth
“No. It it's it's a problem. And and so so I would argue that we don't drift into these things. And, again, let me just rephrase that as nobody drifts into spiritual growth. Nobody drifts into becoming like Jesus. Nobody drifts into wisdom. Nobody drifts into intimacy with God. Nobody drifts into holiness. Nobody drifts into deep character, strong faith, maturity. In fact, it's the opposite. Normally, we're not drifting toward discipline. No. No. We drift towards selfishness. Yeah. Yeah. Drift toward an unhealthy comfort. We drift toward compromise. We we drift towards spiritual passivity. And as pastor Mike preached a couple weeks ago towards sinful patterns that end up taking strongholds in our lives.”

#GiftOfTheSpirit
“But see, all of these are listen. We are able to participate and partake in all of these promises in his divine nature by one glorious promise, and that is the promised holy spirit. That when we confess Christ as Lord, the spirit of God comes to live on the inside of us. You cannot earn your salvation. You cannot earn the holy spirit. You cannot buy your salvation. You cannot buy the holy spirit. It's purely by his grace. And Peter's like, in light of all that God has given us, now go and make every effort to add to your faith.”
