#RestoredIdentity
“It's never been about you. It's never been about me. The celebration wasn't about the son. The celebration was about the reconciliation the father offers to the son. It was about the fact that he restores the son. How do we know this? What does he offer the son? He offers the son a robe of righteousness. That even though he was distant, he has now been made right. He offers him a ring. You know what the ring was? It was the ring of his father's identity.”

#RememberRescue
“So we are all tempted to believe that God is constantly holding out on us. And what really is temptation? Temptation is simply an attempt to diminish remembrance. Temptation is simply an attempt to get you to forget all that God has done in your life. After all these years, I can tell you confidently, I have never met a single person who woke up and said, today, I will destroy my marriage and I'll have an affair. I've never met that person.”

#StopComparing
“You might be religious if you are constantly comparing yourself to others. You might be religious if you are casting judgment on what others are doing or what others have done and simply assuming you know about their life and you've never actually had a conversation with them at all. You might be religious and you might be lost. Now, both the older brother and the younger brother are looking for the same thing. They're both looking for a moment to be celebrated.”

#EnoughInChrist
“Our problem is even though God has given us everything we need, the bible says that we have been given everything we need in Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit. We have an inheritance that God has given us. We have everything that God could give us, and yet it's not enough. There's always something somewhere out there. There's always this little whisper that says, God is holding out on you.”
