#ChooseUnityNotDivision
“Every single one of us matters. It starts with each of us. If we wanna be a church that is full of unity, we have to pursue it individually and corporately. But we could also be someone who's full of disunity and bringing in disunity amongst one another. And then it spreads very quickly. Negativity spreads quickly. Disunity spreads. And so we can choose to either do be one who is full of unity or disunity. And so my question is like, where are you in this?”

#WorkHardForUnity
“And then the last thing I want you to see within this unity section is that unity doesn't just happen. It doesn't just happen. We have to work hard to keep it and to maintain it. Just like we have to put the hard work in our relationships, in our marriages, with our kids, with our friends, We have to put the hard work in and spend the time together. Or even in our work, the things that God calls us to where we in the workplace, we have to work hard at it. We have to do the same thing here with unity in the church.”

#FightSpiritualWarfare
“There is a spiritual war that we can't see. There's also a war between our own wants and our own desires. We live in a culture, in a world where there's constant conflict, anxiety, a lack of contentment, and peace is often absent. You know, Satan wants nothing more than to rip away or rip apart our own individual lives, our families, and his church. He wants to rip it apart. And I I said, let's not let him do that.”

#SeekPeaceThatSurpasses
“So if you're living in a state of conflict or you have anxiety or discontentment or you're bringing in disunity, would you ask God to give you peace that surpasses all understanding, all understanding? Because listen folks, when we have peace with God and we allow him to rule in our hearts and allow him to win the war within each and every one of us, and we do our part, we will have great harmony and peace with one another. So it has to start with each of us.”

#FittedAndKnitTogether
“from him, the whole body fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament. Think about the ligaments of the passage. Think about the ligaments of peace. Think about each and every one of us joining together. We promote the growth of the body for the building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part. We all play a part in it. You have purpose. You have meaning. What you do matters. We are family whether we like it or not. Every single one of us matters in the growth and the unity of the church. So let us be people who love and serve God together.”

#ChristAtonedAndRisen
“Jesus the Christ who as the son of God came down from heaven as fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life. He was our sacrifice, our atonement for our sin, and what also separated us from God. He atoned for that through his death. So he died, but he defeats death sin in the grave through his resurrection on the third day. He's seen by many people and then he ascends into heaven where he intercedes for us today. That is our one lord. And the good news is he's coming back to make all things new.”

#AdoptedIntoGodsFamily
“As believers, we are all adopted into God's family. What a beautiful thing. God is our loving and heavenly father, and he is above all things. He is working through all things, everything. Think about it. The God of the universe is working all things, he's also working in and through each of us personally. That's beautiful. Get this. There is one true God, the triune God of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Jesus calls his church to be one with him. And as the church, we are called to be one with him and to be one with one another.”

#JesusIsOurExample
“What's really neat about this section is these verses is that Jesus is the one who perfectly exemplifies every single characteristic. Look with me again at the text. You can just see Jesus perfectly humble. He is gentle and lowly. He is selfless, meek, self controlled. He is patient, steadfast. He endured. He persevered, and Jesus is love. If there's nothing else that you get, get that, that Jesus exemplifies these characteristics and that he is trustworthy and someone we can follow.”
35s
#RootedInGodsWord
“I wanna encourage us to be rooted and grounded in God's word. As we're seeing this foundation, as we're they as Paul is building this theological robust doctrine and theology, we need to be people who are in God's word, who understand doctrine, who understand theology. Why? Well, if you look a little further in the passage, so that we're not people who are tossed around by culture, but that we have something firm to stand upon and that we are growing in maturity.”
38s
#ChristFirstOthersSecond
“We are to put Christ first, others second, and ourselves third. Second is patience. As we see patience as this long suffering and this steadfastness. Then there's bearing with one another. This is an idea of active endurance and perseverance. Pierre O'Brien, who is a commentator and a theologian on Ephesians, he says, as believers bear with one another's weaknesses and failures in the midst of tensions and conflict, they show a lifestyle that is consistent with their divine calling.”
62s
#PeaceEqualsHarmony
“Peace is harmony. And I love the last word harmony because harmony refers to a state of friendly agreement, peace and cooperation. It is the absence of conflict allowing individuals or groups such as in a family, a workplace, or society so that we can exist together without tension. You know, Jeanette was just telling me, serves on my team about how They come together. And so we can take all of our frequencies, all of the things that God has wired us, and bring those together to bring harmony so that we're moving in the right direction together.”
32s
#EveryoneIsCalled
“And this calling that we received is really simply like our daily conduct. Our daily conduct or our living, and that it should align with what is our general and specific callings. So as we're figuring out what to know and to do in our calling, we're actually all called in this room. Did you all know that? Like, single one of us here in this room, every single one of us are called. We're all called generally and specifically.”
36s
#WalkWorthyInHumility
“Folks, every single one of our callings, it matters. You matter. You matter to God. You matter to this body of believers. So let's be people who are determined to be used by God as we know and then fulfill the callings that he's placed on our life. How do we do that? Well, look with me in verse two. The text shows us that we can walk worthy of this calling with all humility and gentleness, with patience, with bearing with one another in love.”
32s
#PursueUnity
“As believers, we are called to imitate Christ, to adopt the mindset of Christ which we see in the book of Philippians, and then we are to live for Christ. As we are rooted in God's love and embody these Christ like characteristics, then our goal is to make every effort to pursue and keep the unity of the spirit, which brings us to the third point. Church, let us be people who pursue and keep unity.”
34s
#UnityInDiversity
“It takes every single one of us. God has wired every single one of us with unique personalities, gifts, and talents, and he calls us to bring it. Why? To strengthen and to build up the body of Christ. As we think about unity, we are diverse people from different places, different ages, and stages. We are made in the image of God with purpose, and there is unity in our diversity when we pursue it. Also, unity is not uniformity. We don't have to agree on everything.”
35s
#GroundedInDoctrine
“We should be people who know what we believe and why we believe what we believe. You know, my my time in Campbell, which was sometime a little bit of a train wreck, helps me to understand when I got to the other side And where I'm studying God's word and being discipled, I can understand. I know why I believe what I believe because I'm rooted and grounded in God's word and being taught proper theology so that I can it informs me and shapes me, helps me to live and follow Christ better.”
31s
#CalledToServeAndSurrender
“``So we're called to serve God and others. Third, we are called to surrender, which means we live out of the overflow of our salvation. Salvation is not the finish line of our faith. It's actually just the starting line. So as we are saved, we are called to live out of that overflow and submit to Jesus' lie or his authority over our lives. A way to think about it is that every day, there should be a funeral and a coronation in our life.”
34s
#LiveChristlike
“These characteristics are the things that we personally embody as believers in relation to God and one another. So this is something we do personally. Later, I'm gonna show you what we do corporately. But we are to personally be people who are humble, to be lowly. If we as we look at humility and gentleness, those two go together. We're to be selfless, not prideful, not arrogant, not self exalting, which to be honest is a really hard thing to do in our culture.”
