#CalledAndSent
“Listen to me. I wanna be very, very clear. If you claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ and you say to me, you know, I like missions but I've never really felt called to go on mission with the gospel. Then you might as well rip out the entire New Testament of your bible. Because to be in Christ and to follow Christ and to be called by Christ is also to be sent by Christ. That's the whole commission. That's the whole point. It's not one or the other. It's not pick and choose. It's both and. It's a call to Christ to be sent by Christ.”

#CalledInSentOut
“The truth is that any time Jesus calls you to himself, not one time does he not send them out. Every time Jesus calls someone to himself, he says, take up your cross and go. Go and make disciples of all nations. And so the pattern is a coming. But it's also going. You can't stop halfway through the system and say, I'm a Christian. Because if you're truly following Jesus, it is a coming and it is also a going. It's being called in and being sent out.”

#MakeSureTheyHear
“We can't control how people will respond to the gospel. But you know what we can control? Whether or not people hear it. We can't control how people will respond, but we can control if they hear it or not. Whether or not you'll go, trust, share the good news of Jesus and the kingdom. God help us not be silent. Help us not shrink back. No matter how unpopular it might seem or what it means for my reputation. Let us put aside the narrow focus of self and commit to living our lives for the gospel.”

#DelayIsDisobedience
“Delayed obedience is still disobedience. But we use delayed obedience and we disguise it as wisdom. And delayed obedience is fueled by our sinful desire to control the situation. And we say, it's not the right time. It's not the right moment. I'm not prepared, not ready. And we disguise it because we feel like we can control it. Delayed obedience is an excuse to retreat into comfortable, casual Christianity. We have an enemy. It's not flesh and blood, but there's an enemy that does not bother one minute with you coming to church. He does not care if you play a Christian as long as you're silent.”

#NoCasualChristianity
“Now let me be really honest with you because you don't need boldness in faith, and you don't need the holy spirit to live out a quiet, casual, comfortable Christian life this summer. You don't need power to do that. You don't need boldness to come to church. We live in The USA. You don't need boldness to sing some songs in a room. You don't need boldness to do any of that. You don't need faith to do that. You don't need the holy spirit to do that. If you wanna live quiet, you wanna live comfortable, you wanna live casual, and call yourself a Christian, you're missing out on the best summer ever.”

#FaithNotSelfReliance
“Jesus was calling his disciples to trust God in every way. That Jesus would supply every need. That they're gonna go on a journey. But it is a journey of faith. It's not a journey of of self reliance. That's the point. He says, I'm sending you out, but listen, I don't want you to rely on yourself. I don't want you to rely on your own wisdom, or your own eloquence, or your own provision. But trust me, I'll make it work.”

#GodSpeaksThroughYou
“Can you trust that God is big enough, strong enough, and mighty enough to speak through you in a moment? That you may not have a script prepared, but the holy spirit wells up in you and says, tell them. Tell them how much Jesus loves them. Tell them how he died for them. Tell them tell them how he came for them. Can we trust that God is big enough to do that? That's what he's asking his disciples to do. Trust it will happen. Let me ask you. Why do you think Jesus would remind them not to be anxious? Because they're anxious. Because they're feeling like you're feeling right now.”

#MissionsLife
“if you are a Christian, you have not only been called by the grace of Christ, but you've also been empowered and sent by the grace of Christ. And so as a follower of Jesus, if you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you already signed up. You may not realize or understand that you signed up for mission, but really when Jesus says come to me, he also says take up your cross and follow me, and you are to be my ambassadors throughout the entire world. And so when you decide to follow Jesus, you signed up not just for a missions trip, but for a missions life.”
