#GodWithUs
“``I want you to notice, like, we kinda wish the passage said, you will not have to go through the waters. You will not have to go through the fire. That's not what it says, unfortunately. It says that I will be with you, and I'll protect you. And the difference between going through successfully and not is that God would be with them. We have such an encouraging, idea of this from the New Testament that when Jesus came, what was he called? God with us. He's Emmanuel, God with us.”

#RedeemedByGrace
“The answer to that question, like, why would God do that? Why would he redeem his people, deliver them out of slavery in Babylon, or deliver them out of exile in Babylon? Why would he do that? Not because they're amazing, not because they really turn themselves around, but because God good. The answer was in verse 25. I I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake. I'm gonna do it because of who I am, and that's what I do.”

#CalledByName
“One of the things that we see in this passage is the the concept of the power of God's name and also the identifying nature of the way God speaks to his people. He says, I have called you by name. You are mine. That's verse one. I have called you by name. You are mine. That God knows you. God speaks to you at an individual level. He's personal. We have a personal God. He's not like dealing with these people in an abstract kind of way, but he knows them collectively, the Israelites, but also knows them individually. And we know from the New Testament as well that God knows you, that God interacts with you on a personal level.”

#FearNotGodSaves
“But for the Israelites, they likely felt defeated, worthless, out of place, fearful. They'd spent all this time in captivity, and God calls them in these wonderful words in Isaiah 43 to know who he is, to know what he's like, and then specifically their command is don't be afraid. It showed up twice in the passage that we read. Fear not. I have redeemed you. I will bring your offspring from the East, and from the West, I will gather you. There's this promise that God's gonna restore his people to their land, and he's gonna do it by his mighty hand and for the purpose of bringing himself glory, but because he loves those people. He loves his people. This is how God treats the people that he loves and cares for.”
