“``What do you build your life on? What do you build your life on? Because all of us, we're building our lives on something. Some people build their lives on success. Some people build their lives on money. Other people build their lives on relationships or even on what the culture says is true, but the problem with all those things is that all those things can shift. Right? Money comes and goes. Opinions change. Culture and circumstances, those things are constantly shifting. And Jesus says that if you want a life that can withstand the storms that are inevitably gonna come, we even sang about it this morning. Right? But if you want a life that's gonna withstand the storms, you need a foundation that doesn't move. Right?”
37s
“Now, in this story, we can notice also that Jesus doesn't say, hey, the storms might come. The storms are coming. Alright? The storms are coming, and at some point, we're all gonna face a storm in this life. Maybe it's a storm in our marriage or in our family. Maybe it's a storm in our finances, or our health, or even in your career, or in your faith. The question is not whether whether the storms are coming, the question is whether your foundation is strong enough to withstand the storms when they do come.”

“And so the question isn't necessarily, did I read the bible today? It's did I see something when I was there, when I read it. And so some of us, we need to make that shift in our lives today to go from being a brief looker to being a steady looker when it comes to God's word. We don't just glance at it, we wanna gaze deeply into it, focusing intently on the word. Listen, church, steady lookers in God's word, they don't walk away the same. They let the word of God continue to do its work in them.”
41s
“We've gotta be humble. He says, humbly accept the word planted in you. Humility means approaching God's word with a willingness to obey. In other words, we don't say to God like, hey God, why don't you tell me what you want me to do and then I'll decide. Alright? That's not what we're talking about. We're saying, Lord, whatever it is, whatever you want me to do, you know, I will follow. That is becoming a heart posture of someone who's ready to hear from God. Alright? So if we wanna establish our lives on God's word, it begins by receiving it with our ears.”
