#BorrowedBreath
“From our first breath to our last breath, every breath is borrowed. We don't manufacture it. We receive it. Every inhale is a gift from God, And every exhale is a reminder that we depend on him. God has given you breath. He's given you life. What are you gonna do with it? How are you gonna live it out? How will you bring life to those around you?”

#RecoverFromMostlyDead
“So the question that I wanna pose this morning that I get from the princess bride is this. Is it possible to recover from being mostly dead? Is it possible to look at our moments, to look at the seasons of our lives that appear really bleak, tough, difficult? Is it possible to look at them and say, can I ever recover from this? Can I ever change? Can I see it differently? And the reason I wanna pose that question is because I don't know about you, but I serve a God who's famous for bringing dead things to life.”

#LiveGodsDesign
“And as you sing that this morning, I want you to just be reminded that every breath is borrowed. The life that flows in us is not one of our own. It's one that God has given us. Receive that breath and decide what you're going to do with it. Because if you live for yourself, you only have yourself to show for yourself. What would it be like to live out the design that God has in each every one of us to bring life to a world that seems mostly dead?”

#NeverTooFarGone
“We, as followers of Jesus, need to take some steps. We gotta move. And let me just say this too. If you're if you're in the room and and you're in a season where you're feeling mostly dead, you're in a season where it's hard to hold on to any kind of hope. I'm not gonna stand up here and pretend like I have any idea what you're going through or any idea how you feel. But let me just say this, you are never too far gone. Things may feel mostly dead, but trust me when I say there is still some life in there. There is still some hope for you.”

#BreatheLifeLikeJesus
“He breathed on them. It's a symbol. Jesus is saying, like, just like God when he created the earth, he breathed into nothing to give it life. I am go I'm breathing on you to give this movement life. Go out there. You can do this. This is what I love. Jesus models for us the importance of breathing life into those around us. This is a model that I think as a follower of Jesus, we need to look at and go, how do we do that? How do we live that out?”

#MovementIsAlive
“Guess what? The movement that you thought was mostly dead, I'm here. alive. is not over. Why have you lost hope? Listen, peace be with you. Calm your hearts. I know it appears like things are not going the right way, but trust me, I know more than you do. And God is in the business of bringing dead things to life.”

#BreathsOfPurpose
“We have got so much potential to live out the call of Jesus. The disciples believed the movement was dead, but it was very much alive. I'd be willing to bet that you've got moments in your life, even today, that feel mostly dead. Maybe, just maybe, it's slightly alive. One breath marks the beginning of our lives, and one breath marks the end. All the breaths in between are a representation of what God has designed us to be.”

#EquippedForHope
“It's all about hope. And Jesus and there's a lot of debate from biblical scholars on if in that moment they actually received the Holy Spirit or if it was Jesus just telling them the Holy Spirit was coming. But Jesus is saying, listen. You're gonna come out of here. You're gonna leave this place, and I am going to equip you. You have everything you need to go leave this place and share the good news of what I've come here to do. And that is to take old things and make them new. To take lost things and to find them. To take broken things and fix them. To rescue the world. My message of grace is all about hope. It is not dead.”
