Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

1) "The power in and of the words that we speak can change lives forever, even affecting future generations. And the Bible is very plain about this. It's very plain about it. Genesis chapter number nine. This is Genesis chapter number nine. And I'm really making sure. Make sure I go slow. God just want us to absorb it, get it. Genesis chapter nine, verse 20. I'm reading 20 and 27. And Noah began to be a farmer and he planted a vineyard. This is after Noah. This is after the ark. And he drank of the wine and was drunk and became uncovered in his tent." 2) "So Ham, who was the father of Canaan, he wasn't affected... He was affected indirectly, obviously because of it, but not directly. But it was passed down to his grandson, Canaan. Because that was Ham's son, Noah's grandson, Canaan. spoke against Canaan, a powerful curse, and it was shackled around the necks of untold future generations, of this entire generation. I actually looked up just a reminder that even the people are still to this day in bondage because of this curse." [07:33] (49 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3) "And the Lord passed before Moses, before him proclaimed, this is the Lord talking. He said, the Lord, the Lord God is merciful and gracious. God's talking about himself. He's merciful and gracious. Long suffering, and abounding in goodness and truth. Keeping mercy for thousands. Forgiving iniquity. That's wickedness. And transgression. That's just breaking the law. And sin. He's just making sure he covers everything. Wickedness, breaking the law, and just flat out sin. By no means does he clear, he's clearing the guilty. Visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and fourth generations." [12:33] (57 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4) "Until when? Until somebody breaks it. You have to teach this this way. God doesn't, God, God doesn't do it just because he should. He does it because you accept his blessings. If you don't accept him for who he is, then you're guilty. You either, you either under blessings or you're under the cursings. Hebrews 11, 31. Hebrews 11, 31. But I love this. By faith, the harlot Rahab, did not perish with those who did not believe when he had received the spies with peace." [14:14] (69 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5) "Rahab lived in Jericho in the land of Canaan. She was a Canaanite. And the curse was gonna continue. Even though God is merciful, he's gracious, and he's long-suffering. Unless you accept him for who he is, the sins of the fathers will continue to pass down and pass down and pass down. Why? Because be careful what we do as parents because they instill those same values in their children. Watch how we treat other people. Watch your attitude. If you're gonna throw a fit, shut the door in your bedroom, get in the closet, shut the door, cut the water faucet on and the TV and have your fit." 6) "telling you that you can have what this is teaching us that obviously Rahab and all the people of Jericho was cursed, but you can go from cursing to blessing. You can go from evil to good. Amen? Blessings to cursings and good to evil. You can go from blessings to cursings and good to evil. But you can also go from cursing to blessing and from evil to good. So I start out this teaching by telling you, be careful because you can go from a blessing to a cursing just by not acknowledging who he is." 7) "Many people will argue that your hereditary is either biological, that's the genes of your father or your mother, or environmental influence. And obviously that is true. What you heard, what you saw, the people in your family saying or doing. That's why if you didn't pick up from it, biological influence, biologically you will pick up environmentally. Okay? It just is. There's some things I just didn't pick up from my daddy's side of the family that biologically that you picked up environmentally and vice versa with your mother or grandparents or uncles or whatever it is you're hanging around." 8) "But it's also such a thing as spiritual heredity. And physicians, psychiatrists, all these do not, generally do not recognize that. But the Bible reveals called man has a body, has a soul, and has a spirit. We know that. And even as biological and environmental hereditary affects the body, the spiritual heredity affects our soul and our spirit. We see how we look. We see how we act and all this stuff because of environmental, because of the biological. But boy, we battle our soul and our spirit because of the spiritual heredity that's passed down." 9) "Jesus has the power to make us free. John 8, 32. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. John 8, 36. If the Son makes you free, you are free indeed. Amen. Honey, if Rahab, the heart that can get set free from generations of curses, then you can get, draw a line in the sand and say, this is it. I know what it, you can take care of the biological, you can take care of the environmental, you can take care of the spiritual heredity. Amen. Through the blood of Jesus. That's why it says you are made whole. Amen." [23:29] (40 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10) "And I believe with all my heart, that's what Jesus wants us to understand that even though we've all gone through biological stuff, environmentalist stuff, you know, hereditary stuff, environment, because of what all, all of us, we're not in here because we're, you know, we're perfect. We figured that some of us, man, we, we went through some hell, man, we have some stuff. And also spiritual stuff that, that deal with, and you look at your children. I think if you're on a Wednesday night, you, you, you get it, but my children are dealing with stuff." [31:07] (36 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
