Jesus here breaks every single norm and he does everything contrary to the normal tradition of everyday life. A man never spoke to a woman. He did. A Jew never spoke to a Samaritan. He did. [00:13:26] (16 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

God did not save us and place us in this world for us to keep avoiding people. We have been placed in this city. We have been placed in this community. We have been placed on this earth so that we can be the ones reaching out. [00:15:58] (20 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

We ought to be the bridge builders. We ought to be the peacemakers. We ought to be the ones that reach out and engage and embrace everyone, no matter who they are. Why? Because when we know that God loved us the way we were, the way we are, and yet he sent his son to die for our sins. [00:16:49] (21 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

So we are not to discriminate, but we are to be the ones that reach out, just like Jesus did, at even the cost of his own reputation. [00:17:40] (11 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

So we know that when we serve God through Jesus Christ, he will meet our needs. Every single one of them. Your spouse cannot fulfill them. Your parents cannot fulfill them. Your children cannot fulfill them. Most certainly your boss cannot fulfill them or even your best friend, but Jesus can. [00:22:05] (25 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

And I like in this passage how Jesus is talking to her notice that he doesn't condemn her but he also doesn't affirm her it's like yeah yeah good you're you're doing all this he just what exposes the truth and she realizes that in Christ Jesus she sees herself now as a new person in the in the presence of the Messiah. The way you are, Jesus wants to have an encounter with you. Notice how he didn't say, well, first woman, get rid of the man that you're living with, then come and talk to me. He didn't say that. But he said, come to me as you are. [00:26:06] (18 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

And they also need the transforming power of the gospel in their life. The same power of the gospel that transformed your life. That no matter what happens, Jesus is still in the business of transforming people's lives. [00:28:12] (17 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

He must come and meet you. He is after you, day and night. Isn't that the beautiful message of the gospel? That no matter who you are, no matter what you've done, no matter what you acted out like, He is coming after you. [00:30:43] (18 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
