Joshua 2 proves that the giants were never the real problem. Jericho was scared to death of Israel because Jericho had heard what Israel’s God had done. Pharaoh knew what was in them. Jericho saw what was on them. Israel just did not see it. False identity kept them out of what fear had already surrendered.

Spiritual warfare is real, but the devil is not some equal power standing toe to toe with Jesus. Christ has already disarmed him, exposed him, and put him underfoot. The only weapon still functioning is accusation, and accusation only works when it gets into the ear. Romans 8 names the active enemy as the carnal mind, a mind still running on old information.

That gap between deliverance and promise gets a name: Egyptian slavery disorder, PESD. It is not a clinical diagnosis, but a spiritual mindset that keeps dragging Egypt into Canaan. Freedom can feel unsafe when bondage has become familiar. The word of God has to pull down strongholds one lie at a time, like a pickaxe breaking the foundation, until Egypt is finally out of those who have already left Egypt.
