Sermon Quotes

Just like we feed ourselves physical food when we’re hungry, we must feed our souls with spiritual food to fill us. So often, we feed our souls with temporary things, but they just wind up leaving us unsatisfied and wanting more.

The truth is they weren’t looking for a Savior, they were looking for a supplier. They weren’t chasing Jesus’ presence—they were chasing Jesus’ provision. They wanted more bread. But Jesus wanted to give them life.

The temporary things of this world will never fill our eternal hunger, only Jesus can. We all have been in a place where life looks good on the outside, but we’re empty on the inside.

We try filling that emptiness with popularity, the newest phones, pleasures, alcohol, or anything to fill the void inside us. The sad truth is it will make us feel full for a minute, but it leaves us empty again and wanting more.

These temporary fixes have an expiration date. You can chase it, but it will spoil. You can consume it, but it will fade. Jesus is the only one who can satisfy the hunger your heart can’t explain.

Jesus isn’t offering you a quick fix—He’s offering you Himself. He’s not just giving you what you need to live. He’s the One who gives life meaning.

Temporary satisfaction will always leave us wanting more—just one more like, just one more follower, just one more night of fun—and will always leave us empty. Eternal fulfillment will leave us fulfilled, whole, and truly satisfied.

Jesus doesn’t promise to give you everything you want—He promises to be everything you need. We have to stop chasing the immediate, and begin to chase the eternal.

Don’t let the only time you meet with Jesus be Sunday morning or Wednesday night, you need to be fed daily. Live the life, don’t just speak it, live it. Stay close to the source of strength for your life.

Don’t hold on to the temporary any longer, reach out to Jesus. Jesus wants to fill the emptiness you felt would never be filled. Only he can make you whole, only he can bring sense to the chaos.
