46s
“The comforts that we search for in our lives. You ever heard of a codependent relationship? You know why those happen? Because there's holes in us, and we think the person can fill us. You're seeing an addiction actively being played out? It's happening because there's holes in us, and we're trying to fill it with something. We're longing. We're desperate. We're desperate. We have a God sized gap, and Jesus is saying, I'm the one who God sent to fill that.”
35s
“you say count it all joy. Show me how to be joyful. Teach me how to be joyful. Joyful is not some crazy lunatic laugh that suppresses the the reality. Like, my marriage has fallen apart. I'm doing great. That's not joy. That's not joy. Joy joy is saying, I know my Lord has risen. I know my Lord has risen. I know he has risen. He has conquered death, and this hurts so bad, but Lord, I'm so glad I am with you. Hallelujah.”
40s
“Right? And true worship is that. True worship isn't like, great, you delivered me from cancer. That's something to be happy about. Amen? Amen. But that's not what true worship is about. True worship is about your position in Christ. So therefore, if cancer is there or not there, blessed be the name of the Lord. Right? Therefore, no matter what comes against me, God is on the throne. So when we come up and we worship through the sacraments or altar call, we are responding to the truth of who God is in our life because we're not looking at things according to the flesh anymore. We are prayerfully going about our walk with the Lord.”
