#BreadOfLifePromise
“``I am the bread of life. Eat me. It's me. It's my flesh. Take it in remembrance of what I'm going to do. I'm going to provide for you. I'm going to see to it. This time I need you to see a larger provision. I want you to see that my flesh is broken for you, my blood is poured out for you. But I'm gonna provide life everlasting, freedom from sin, joy forever for all who will eat, to all who will receive me. It's there for the asking. It's there for the taking. It simply needs to be processed and accepted.”

#WheatToBread
“Jesus then allows himself to go on the wheat grain journey. He allows himself to be harvested, and he submits to threshing physically and winnowing to root out the sin of the world and to deal with it forever. Then he is ground down in the most violent of deaths. Then in a miraculous way, he becomes bread for us. But what's the last stage of bread making? Well, it's the rising of the bread. It's the yeast, not the yeast of religion, not the yeast of your own satisfaction in your pity party or in your other, things that you find difficult to work with, but it's a yeast of Jesus that causes the bread to rise just like he rose again from the grave.”

#PresenceNotPromises
“Yes. Jesus was saying something that was offending. It sounds like cannibalism and actually rattled to the margins of their religious beliefs. But here's the thing. Jesus never actually promises easy. He promises presence. He never promises full clarity, but he desires faith. He never promises that you will get all you want, but he does promise that he will provide all that you need. He will see to it.”

#BreadForEveryone
“What Jesus was saying here is that this bread of life that I am is for you all. It's for every single one of you. Wherever you feel life, whatever you feel life has done to you, wherever you feel in connection with the religion that's going on, it's for you today. So we come asking those questions. What do you want? Who do you seek? What provision do you need today? is burning in your heart? Jesus is standing here and says, I am the bread of life. I will see to it. Whatever it is, I will see to it.”

#TableToEternity
“The table is where Jesus is going in this story. He's the bread of life. He sees beyond it to a cross. He sees beyond it to a resurrection. He sees beyond it to eternity, sitting together, feasting together because Jesus has done everything that he needed to do. So what's today for you? Why did he come? What did you want? Who are you seeking? In these moments of communion, I want you to think about those questions again. Did you come looking for satisfaction? It's only there in Jesus. Did you come looking for understanding? It's only there by faith in him.”

#YahwehWillProvide
“But the first one of these is Yahweh Jirah, which means the Lord will provide. Maybe you know that already. Yahweh jirah. It's so interesting that the first one about provision lines up so closely with the first one that Jesus says, I am the bread. Interesting. Tyler goes on to say that, the word yirah comes from the Hebrew to see. So the most literal translation actually of this name is something like, Yahweh will see to it. I really like that. He's a provider. It's not just for food. It's for everything you need. And you not need not worry because God will see to it. He will see to it.”

#SignsPointToJesus
“The gospel of John is largely the whole gospel is largely a discourse on identity. It includes many many wondrous signs, but these signs are always supposed to be a means to an end. The gospel itself is an appeal to ponder on the signs, but also see through them to seek an actual person. Not just to have faith in the signs, but to put your faith in the sign bringer, this Jesus who came to bring life.”

#BreadFromHeaven
“So they would have got what Jesus was talking about. And then Jesus says, I am the living bread that comes down from heaven. The exact phraseology that the Israelites used for this manner, it's the bread that comes down from heaven. And there's Jesus sitting going, I am the bread that comes down from heaven. The point is as simple as the meal the people on the mountain were eating. The miraculous provision points to a miraculous provider. Jesus is providing in this wilderness this day.”
