#FinishTheRace
“If you're tired of starting over all the time, stop stopping. Because if you don't quit, you win. See, my only aim that's what Paul's saying. My only aim is to finish the race. It's hard. See, this journey called faith is not about who goes the hardest. It's about who goes the longest. It's not about intensity. It's about consistency. Will you put hand to the plow and not look back? Because scripture says those that do are not fit for the kingdom of god. Not saying they're not saved. They're just they're not gonna see kingdom results. Some of us, you don't need another conference. You don't need to go somewhere for another word. You need to get planted in the house of the lord. Amen. Some of you, you do a song or another devotional or another podcast. I love those things. We do those things. But at some point, you gotta get planted and start running your race.”

#SpiritOverFlesh
“And in Romans eight five to Paul talks about two mindsets. Your mind is either set on the things of the spirit of God or your mind is set on the flesh. Everybody everybody here is being led by something. So the question for you today is what's driving me? Come on. Ask yourself. Say self. Self. What's driving me? Some of us need to say self, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself because the flesh will break you down. The flesh will break down on you every time. How many of you have ever been stuck on the side of the road? The flesh will leave you stuck on the side of the road every time. The flesh yeah. It'll bring pleasure. I'm not gonna say that that it doesn't bring pleasure for a season, but the flesh will not bring peace. And here Paul is saying, I'm compelled by the spirit of God. There's this internal irresistible urge. Yeah. This is hard, but I'm called. I was born to live. It may be a small hinge and a big door, but that small hinge will swing that thing to what God has for me.”

#ReadTheWord
“And I wanna encourage you today, church, be led by the Holy Spirit. Ask yourself. Say, what's leading me right now? Is this the Holy Spirit? Is this the flesh? Is this the holy spirit, or is this some algorithm on YouTube? Come on. Is this the holy spirit, or is this because everybody else is doing it? Tell your neighbor, be led by the holy spirit. Be led. Let him order your steps. And you might be saying, Javier, how am I led by the holy spirit? Start reading your bible. Don't tell me you're led by the spirit and you don't read your bible. Actually, if you're one of those charismatic Christians that believes in speaking in tongues and falling down and rolling over and you're never reading your bible, I'd say that's not the holy spirit. That's you, boo. Amen, pastor Javier. You can't say it's the holy spirit if you're not in his word. He is the word. He was the word made flesh. We build our lives on solid ground, and it's the word of the lord. Well, pastor Javier, I need a brand new word. Then get yourself a brand new bible. It's the same word.”

#EyesOnJesus
“We other people challenge us. They encourage us, but there's a difference between a glance and a gaze. My gaze stays on Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of my faith. Amen. I I'm gonna complete this thing, and I wanna encourage you. This house, Shiloh, is not a place. We don't come here to rank believers. We are one body, the body of Christ, and we come together on mission. Amen. Anybody that believes that church's days are better ahead of it. Come on. Praise the lord. I'm cheering you on on your race. you know how draining it is trying to run somebody else's race? One you didn't train for? No wonder a lot of you can't sleep at night. No wonder if you don't have peace. No wonder so many believers feel anxious. It's hard to run a race consistently looking to the left and to the right. You need to keep looking to Jesus. Paul saying it was hard, but I was born to live. However, I ain't quitting. Tell your neighbor, I ain't quitting.”

#EveryChoiceCounts
“Right? And and every time I would win, you know what they'd say? Dad, that doesn't count. But you know what I've never heard? I've never heard the winner say, that doesn't count. Right? Because because when you win, it counts. And and really, everything matter. Every point matters. Every play mattered. Every move matters. And that's true in life. Every choice matters. Every act of obedience matters. Every sacrifice matters. Every step of faith matters. Every indecision matters. All of it counts. Tell your neighbor, it all counts. And the question isn't whether your life will count because it will. The real question is who will your life count for?”

#EmbraceTheHard
“So Paul's saying, I'm going to Jerusalem, and I don't know what's gonna happen there. It's gonna be hard. I'm going to live in Oakland, and it's gonna be hard. And I've learned that on the Christian journey that many people stopped going because they stopped knowing. Some people who were here last year are not here this year. Last year, they were on fire. Last year, they were full of purpose. Last year, they were ready to move forward. But when they stepped out on this faith journey, this path of life as scripture calls it, the not knowing began to wear on them. And Paul says in Acts 20, the only thing I know is that prison and hardships are facing me. I like that. That's funny to me. I don't know what's gonna happen. All I know, it's gonna be hard. Tell your neighbor, it's gonna be hard.”

#WaitingIsGrowth
“See, what what some of us are always saying is I'm waiting from the way a word from the lord. You know what that means in real English talk? That's called super spiritual wannabe Christianity. What you're really saying is I'm waiting on a word from god that I like. It's true. The Bible says in Psalms thirty seven four, delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. I don't believe God is trying just out to make our lives difficult. He's trying to develop them. But if you're waiting on a calling from God that is comfortable, that you like, well, let me tell you, you're gonna wait forever”

#JesusWithMe
“Go to your bible. You'll see it's in red letters. The great miracle of the story is not that Paul avoided prison. It is that when he was thrown in prison, Jesus got into prison with me. And what does Jesus say? Read that with me. Take courage. Tell your neighbor, take courage. that tells me courage is accessible to you. It tells me you have access to courage right now. It tells me you could be in a hard place, a difficult place, an uncertain place, and still have enough faith right then and now to receive everything you need from God. Somebody walked in here today saying, God, get me out of it. But God is saying back, no. I'm getting in it with you. I'm getting in the hard place with you. I'm getting in that marriage with you. I'm getting into that diagnosis with you. I'm getting into that church with you. I'm getting into that workplace with you. I'm going to that neighborhood with you. I'm going to the city you live in with you. I'm getting into that friendship with you. Somebody give him praise and say, he's getting in. Come on.”
