“God calls him and God gives him this this covenant promise. A covenant is a a unbreakable promise. Think about it that way. And God says to Abram this, I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous. And you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All families on earth will be blessed through you.”
“Although it's given to one man named Abram, it's it's basically passed down to generations and generations of people who are followers of God who know that God has this incredible power, incredible will to bless nations and peoples and individuals.”
“And that is not lost upon us. should not be lost upon us that we are part of that covenant promise that through each of us we are have the opportunity to bless others and so I don't I never want you to think about to consider that your faith is just about you and you alone doesn't work that way God has given you a special blessing so that you can bless other people just let that sink in for a second there.”
“And as much as you blessed Abraham to be a blessing to nations, to peoples, to individuals, you call us to be that same sort of people, to be a blessing to others. I pray that that would happen first and foremost in our hearts. That we would have that sense that you have blessed each of us in a very particular way, but also that we turn around, we bless others through that same blessing you have given us. Let that be our mandate as we live a calling upon each of our lives to be a blessing to others because you have blessed us.”
“There is a devotional out there. There's a handful left called today. And so again, it's just a daily devotion as a Bible passage, a thought, and a prayer. So if you're if you're always struggling, I don't know how to do time with God, that's a good way to do it. Okay? Super simple, daily, and uh easy to slide into your pocket or your purse.”
“Next week uh I'm starting to teach a class called the common rule. And so it's uh basically uh creating habits in your life that are spiritual habits that sort of are ingrained in your daily uh daily walk. And so um when we talk about how to connect with God more, how to bring God into your life more, um it's not a it's not a super hard thing to do. It's very simple. This book makes it uh super accessible and super simple.”
“Pledging is multiple ways, right? First is uh financial and so the red at the very top is our goal. The blue is what we received, right? So, we're like 10% maybe. Um, and the number of pledges, people, individuals who have pledged is 22. Okay? But there are multiple ways that you can pledge. It's not just financial. It's by praying. I I want to pray for missionaries and missions uh organizations on a regular basis.”
“You can also u be involved with encouraging them, encouraging a missionary. I know a few small groups here uh are in constant uh contact through WhatsApp to uh missionary overseas and you know it's encouraging for that particular individual. um you can send gifts, you know, things like this. And so multiple ways you can encourage and support a missionary and to also pledge to say, "Hey, I I would be interested in going on a short-term missions trip."”
“Actually, we would encourage that because it mission short-term mission trips, we're talking 14 days, something like that, 12, 14 days are, let's be honest, they're not a huge help for the missionary on the ground in the country, but they can change the way you think about missions and how you feel about missions and God's work uh in the in the greater world.”
“It's also about, um, just keeping missionaries in mind because, you know, one of the greatest things you can do for missionaries is to pray for them. and they may not know that you're praying for them, but you do and God does. So, that's that's a great thing to do. So, every week you're going to see our missions uh organizations and individuals that we support. Just tape it to your uh to your um refrigerator, um to your bathroom mirror, to your inside car windshield, you know, whatever whatever you want to do to help keep that uh in the forefront of your mind.”
“The speakers that have come in they've shared a lot about their ministries and how um uh God is using them and their organizations to reach other people and and that's fantastic. Uh today's speakers um are regulars in our congregation. uh but the work they do is uh somewhat sensitive in the sense that uh the the countries and the people groups that they engage uh are not always receptive to proitizing uh to the gospel message.”
“You were the word at the beginning one with God the Lord most high. your hidden glory in creation and now revealed in you our Christ. What a beautiful name it is. What a beautiful name it is. The name of Jesus Christ my king. What a beautiful name it is. Nothing compares to this. What a beautiful name it is. The name of Jesus.”
