“That breath of God moves through creation and moves through time and it is in Jesus and he brings it into this locked room with the disciples and brings order and peace out of chaos, out of that that happens when you're afraid, when you're grieving. Clear picture. Clear sound. Physical savior. Turns out Mary was right. And that when someone you trust gently says, this is what I've experienced. Maybe you listen. Maybe you weigh it.”

“The thing that always gets me about this story of Thomas and the disciples and the locked up room and keep in mind that for John, this is the evening of the resurrection day. This part of John picks up right where we left off last Sunday when we read about Mary Magdalene having had this encounter with the risen Jesus and she he tells her go and tell the disciples and so she goes to tell them. And are they having a party? They are not. Are they going out and telling other people? They are not.”
