46s
“Before we even read the text today, I I wanna share with you that before Jesus begins telling his disciples what they should do, he begins by describing what they should be. And that distinction is important. Behaving better is something we do. Becoming like Jesus is who we are called to be. Now if we're becoming more like Jesus, our behavior ought to change, and there ought to be something different about the way we live.”
40s
“So to be blessed is to live under the favor of God and to know that whatever may be happening around you is okay because you belong to the king. Your circumstances may not change. People's opinion of you may not change. What you possess may not change. Your health may not change, but none of those things ultimately determines whether you are blessed. Because your blessing rests in your relationship to the king and with the king.”
63s
“perhaps somebody will eventually ask, Why do you have that kind of joy? do you still have hope? Why did you respond that way? Why are you different? And when they ask you why, we have an answer. Jesus is the answer. Then we have the privilege of telling them who Jesus is and what he's done and what Jesus can do in their lives. So, church, we want to become better reflections of Jesus so that when people see the difference Jesus makes in us, we can tell them all about the Jesus who made the difference. when we do that, Jesus gets the glory.”
