54s
“People aren't projects. Effective evangelism and discipleship is not a race to the end where you make pristine theological statements and the other person is swayed by your impeccable logic and changes their whole life on the spot right in front of you. Individuals were never meant to be notches on your belt or a goal to be won. It's about relationship, long term walking with people, getting to know them, carrying their burdens, and celebrating their wins. It's about investing in one another, learning stories, and sharing your own, and then letting God do the work. Not winning debates, but sharing our experiences.”
58s
“It doesn't need to be dramatic. It just needs to be honest. Before how you met Jesus, after. It's that simple. Sharing your story without relationship is hollow, but relationship without your story is dishonest. Relationship is still the goal, guys. This is not a manipulation tactic. This is not a sales pitch. We love our neighbors because they're made in the image of God and because loving our neighbors is what we do. We don't love them so that we can eventually baptize them, but you better believe that we will have a huge party if we baptize one of your neighbors. That's awesome.”
49s
“That's the this is the part that that sits weird with me because this is kind of new to me. These these are not images of people ambushing passersby with their testimony. These are people who are living their life ready to share what they have experienced to those who ask. Sharing your story is not about cornering a person and making them listen to your testimony and arguments so that they can bend to your logic. No one's ever been argued into the kingdom of God. It's about living in such a way that invites the question and being able to give an answer.”
