41s
“``Just because somebody does something the way they did it doesn't mean that's how you're supposed to do it. Just because Moses was leading in the way that he was leading doesn't mean that's how Joshua was expected. Notice God in some sense is honoring that Joshua is not the servant the Lord. He's Moses' assistant. He's saying, I know who you are, Joshua. You're still gonna lead. And Joshua is going to lead as God has called Joshua to lead, not as he called Moses to lead. Godly leaders push off the temptation to be who they came behind, and instead godly leaders lead as God made them to lead.”
33s
“You may have been disappointed by leaders, you may watch leaders fall and you will, but here's the thing, Jesus Christ will never fail you. Follow him. And when you follow him, you follow him with the calling he's given you, and you follow him with his character. You get into his word and let it be in your mouth. Don't do it independently, gather with the church, be with the people, and I guarantee you God will begin to move as he calls you into that ministry.”
41s
“It's interesting is that term as assigned to each implies that God had a different assignment for Apollos than he did for Paul. And if Apollos had to try to do Paul's assignment, it wouldn't have worked. God has an assignment for you. God will call you into something. And whether it's in your parenting, whether it's in your work environment, whether it's in the coaching world of sports because, hey, we're gonna live in Corona, or whether it's in ministry at church or whether it is simply some place that you find that you've been given some leadership. No. Your call is to live out how God has called you. So do you know who God has made you?”
37s
“And it's gonna call us to a greater calling, call us to a greater vision, call us out of our retirements, call us up from our youth, call us into the leadership that God has called you to. It's not just gonna happen from one preacher and a pastor. It's not it's not gonna happen from a dozen pastors in their pulpits. No. It's going to happen because the people of God take up the call of God with the character of God, guided by the word of God in order to get the message of God into the hands of everyone around as we follow Jesus, the leader. No matter who leads you, always remember, Jesus is always the true leader.”
