#NotAloneAtChurch
“``I want to show you're not alone because church church should be the safest place to talk about our mental health struggles, shouldn't it? But so many times we think church is like the last place to talk about those things. Like, no. It's just a place where we come and rejoice. And boy, do we love to rejoice. And God has given us so much to rejoice about. But church also needs to be a place where it's safe to come. Like, I'm I'm hurting. I'm struggling. I'm overwhelmed. Like, I've got this fear. I got this anxiety. I got stuff going on and it and it hurts. And listen. You can have genuine faith and still battle fear. You can have genuinely be saved but still battle anxiety. You can genuinely have been forgiven for your sins but still battle depression.”

#JustifiedThenGrowing
“Salvation, that moment when I make that decision to follow Jesus, we call that the moment of justification where my sins are forgiven and I am justified. It's kinda like a legal term. Right? I am now good to go. But that's not the end of salvation. It's the beginning. I am justified. My sins are forgiven. I am clean. But now we start what we call the process of sanctification, which is just a big fancy way of saying, now we get to grow. Now we get now we get to learn. Now we get to grow. And I hope that all of us that are followers of Jesus, we don't ever stop growing. We don't ever get stuck.”

#GrowthThroughLament
“I don't always grow when things are the easiest, but I usually grow when things get hard. I think for Elijah, for king David, Jeremiah, I think a lot of their periods of growth came through their periods of lament. So, again, I say church church should be the safest place to come and talk about our mental health battles. The bible didn't have that language yet. Those people didn't have the language yet to say mental health struggles, mental health battles. That's a newer phrase, newer terminology that we have. But as you binge the bible, as you read through it, now that you have eyes to see, you can see it all throughout scripture. People were struggling. People were hurting.”

#FaithAndStruggle
“And listen. You can have genuine faith and still battle fear. You can have genuinely be saved but still battle anxiety. You can genuinely have been forgiven for your sins but still battle depression. I think sometimes we have we have some belief issues. Right? We've talked before, like, we don't wanna just change behavior. We wanna change the belief that leads to that behavior. And I think one of our belief issues that we have is we think the moment that, like, I I make a decision to follow Jesus, commit my life to Jesus, that in that moment, it fixes everything in my life. And from that moment on, it's just smooth sailing. Whoo. I got Jesus in my heart. I'm good to go.”
