Biblical faith is not just wishful thinking or a vague hope, but a confident assurance in the promises of God, even when we cannot see the outcome. This faith is rooted in the character of God, who is holy, just, and perfectly faithful, and it enables us to trust Him through every trial and uncertainty. True faith is not passive; it is an active, wholehearted trust that shapes our decisions, our obedience, and our daily walk with the Lord. As we read God’s Word and experience His faithfulness, our faith grows deeper, anchoring us in the unseen realities and future promises of God. [34:07]
Hebrews 11:1-2 (ESV)
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation.
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you are struggling to trust God with the unseen outcome? How can you take a step of faith today, believing His promises even when you cannot see the result?
God alone is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, having spoken all things into existence by His powerful word. Every aspect of creation, from the air we breathe to the food we eat, is a gift from His hand, and nothing exists apart from His will and purpose. Recognizing God as Creator not only grounds our faith but also gives us purpose and meaning, reminding us that our lives are not accidents but are intentionally designed by a loving and sovereign God. In a world that often questions or denies God’s creative work, believers are called to stand firm in the truth of His Word and to live with gratitude for all He has made. [54:43]
Genesis 1:1 (ESV)
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Reflection: As you go about your day, what is one thing in creation you can intentionally thank God for, acknowledging Him as the source and sustainer of your life?
The lives of the elders—like Abel and Enoch—demonstrate that genuine faith is always accompanied by obedience and a desire to please God. Abel’s offering was accepted because it was given in faith, and Enoch’s life was marked by walking closely with God, so much so that he did not experience death. Our own stories are still being written, and the legacy we leave will be determined by whether we trust and obey God, even when it is difficult or unpopular. God is still writing history through our lives, and He desires that our testimony be one of faithfulness, integrity, and confident assurance in Him. [01:02:06]
Hebrews 11:4-6 (ESV)
By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Reflection: If someone were to write your story today, would it be a testimony of faith and obedience to God? What is one step you can take to strengthen your legacy of faith?
God’s character is immutable—He never changes, never sleeps, and never makes mistakes. He is always on His throne, watching over His people and working out His purposes, even when circumstances seem uncertain or overwhelming. In a world that is constantly shifting, God’s faithfulness is our anchor, and we can trust Him with every detail of our lives, knowing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. When we face trials, decisions, or fears about the future, we are called to pray first, trust God’s wisdom, and rest in His unchanging promises. [44:42]
Psalm 121:3-4 (ESV)
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Reflection: What is one worry or fear you need to surrender to God’s unchanging faithfulness today? How can you remind yourself of His steadfastness in the midst of uncertainty?
Every believer has been given a measure of faith by God, but it is our responsibility to exercise and grow that faith through surrender, obedience, and seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Faith is not just for salvation but for every aspect of life—our families, our finances, our health, and our future. As we give ourselves away in service to others and trust God with our lives, He blesses us and uses us to bless others. The call is to surrender fully, to diligently seek God, and to let Him write a story of faithfulness through us that will impact generations to come. [01:09:37]
Romans 12:3 (ESV)
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
Reflection: In what area of your life do you sense God calling you to exercise greater faith or surrender more fully to Him? What practical step can you take today to respond to His call?
Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God, the very substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Even when life feels complicated or uncertain, God remains holy, just, and perfectly faithful. He is the source of our hope and joy, and He calls us to trust Him wholeheartedly, not just with a “hope so” faith, but with a “know so” faith—an assurance rooted in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has forever broken the power of death and given us the promise of eternal life. This is not a distant theological concept, but a living reality for all who surrender their lives to Him.
Faith is more than intellectual agreement; it is an active, wholehearted trust in God’s perfect character. Even the demons believe in God and tremble, but true faith is demonstrated by obedience, integrity, and a confident assurance that God is in control, even when we cannot see what He is doing. The examples of Abel and Enoch remind us that faith is not just about believing, but about living in a way that pleases God. Abel’s offering was accepted because it was given in faith, and Enoch’s life was marked by a walk that pleased God so much that he was taken directly into His presence.
God’s creative power is seen from the very beginning—He spoke the universe into existence. Our faith allows us to perceive and trust the unseen workings of His divine plan. In a world that often questions purpose and meaning, faith anchors us in the reality that God is the giver of every good thing, the sustainer of our lives, and the One who holds our future. Our stories are still being written, and the legacy we leave will be determined by whether we trust and obey God or choose our own way.
The call is clear: surrender fully to Jesus Christ, trust Him with every aspect of your life, and let your faith be active and visible. God rewards those who diligently seek Him, and He desires a relationship, not just religious activity. As we remember Christ’s sacrifice through the Lord’s Supper, we are reminded both of what He has done and the promise that He is coming again. Let us examine our hearts, walk in integrity, and live lives that please God, knowing that He is forever faithful.
Biblical faith is a wonderful gift from God that enables us to trust him even when life feels complicated or uncertain. Before I go forward, has life ever felt complicated or uncertain to anyone in this room? Sometimes it just you God, if you don't do something, the worst is going to happen. [00:35:53]
It's more than just believing in God because the Bible says in James that the devil's believing God and they even shiver. They're afraid because they live with God because they were created by God as holy angels and they chose to sin against God and follow Satan in the fall. So therefore, they know who God is. [00:36:13]
Our faith is embedded in the name of Jesus Christ. Our faith is given to us by God in measure, but it grows as we read his word and experience him in life. Did you know that? The Bible says every one of us that have given our hearts and lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, we have surrendered our life. [00:37:18]
We believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth lived as a sinless man, died on the cross for our sins. We believe he really did die. We believe he really was buried in a borrowed tomb. And we really believe that he was God raised him from the dead on the third day just as scripture says. [00:37:36]
If you come to this morning to get something, listen, you come for the wrong reason. You should have come this Sunday to give yourself away. And in giving, you always receive. God is that good to us, church. He's that good. So, he's given us examples. Listen, the elders, Genesis 1, in the beginning, God created the heavens, he heavens and the earth. [01:01:40]
True faith shows itself through obedience. True faith shows itself through integrity and confident assurance that God is in control even when we can't see what he's doing. It anchors us in the unseen realities and future promises of God. [00:42:51]
God evaluated the righteous patriarchs of old. By faith, they gained divine approval and a strong spiritual reputation. We learn from them to trust and rely on God's character, God's promises, God's power, even when circumstances seem uncertain. [00:44:10]
Let me encourage you by faith. God is still at work and you have to trust him fully. Your belief is, "Can God get me through this?" Because some people say, "I've done everything I can do. Now I'm going to pray about it. Can I ask you to reverse that? Pray about it. And then he'll tell you and show you what to do." [00:44:31]
Just as God's spoken word brought the visible world into existence, our faith enables us to perceive and trust the unseen workings of his divine plan. I can't help but do this. Let's go back to Genesis 1 for a second. Hold your place and let's just read together so we have a a factual note this morning when we leave church. [00:54:16]
If you have an issue with Genesis 1, you've got an issue with John 3:16. Because guess who spoke in Genesis 1? The Bible says John 1:1 tells us that everything that was made was made by the Lord Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:1, you got a picture and problem with John 1:1 and you got a problem with John 3:16. [00:55:17]
Through faith, we come to know our creator more intimately and begin to recognize his purpose for our lives. Do you know it's one of the biggest things that we're seeing, especially in society today? People have no purpose. They're asking, "What am I here for?" That's why suicide rates are on the on the rise. [00:49:17]
But brothers and sisters, I'm going to tell you, you're going to live forever. One of the three H's, you're going to live forever. And the final, when time comes for the here to be gone, listen, you're going to live forever in heaven or hell. It's dropping down the two. But you're under the hearing of the word of God today. [00:49:52]
By faith, Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than his brother Cain. Because of his faith, God showed that Abel was right with him by accepting his offering. How do you know he was right? Because God received what he offered. Even though Abel died a long ago, his faith still speaks to us today about what it means to trust and obey God. [01:02:31]
If your name is fit there and your story is still being written today, God's still writing history today. Someone's going to live up to your history. Your children, your grandchildren, those people in your community, those people that you work with, go to school with. Does Clint please God? [01:04:07]
And listen, your integrity is the only thing that you have today before God. Don't lose it and don't let let anyone take it. Stand firm with the Lord Jesus Christ because he loves you, church. And he wants you to walk with him daily because he's walking. Do you got your Do you have your shoes on? Are you walking with him? [01:08:19]
