#StayCloseToGod
“Draw near to God. That's the key. And you have to stay close with the Lord. Too many times when trouble, tragedy, trial, circumstances hit in our life, what do we do? We drift away from the Lord during those times instead staying close to God. He's our he's our source. He's our strength. I'm always mindful of that. I don't know. It was a meme or a picture before it became a meme where there was, like, a little cat and a and a and a or a little cub and a and a mama bear, and then there was a predator that was attacking the little cub. And the little cub thought that he was so strong and tough and, you know, he muscled up and and the predator ran away, but he didn't realize that the mama was standing behind him.”

#SpiritualWeapons
“it's not human strength that causes resistance. It's not willpower that causes resistance. Anytime you try to resist the devil in your own strength, you lose. There's not a person in here that is strong enough to resist the devil in your own strength. K? You fight spiritual wars with spiritual weapons. Too many people trying to fight spiritual wars with natural weapons. The scripture says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds. What's a stronghold by? It's a mental block up here. It's where the enemy sets up camp in your head. And if he's got you in your head, he's got you.”

#ScriptureAsMedicine
“Just like you're gonna take whatever medicines they provide, prescribe for you. Right? You're gonna you're gonna go because that they're telling you that's gonna help fight the cancer. You don't just go for one dose of chemotherapy or one dose of radiation. Right? You go for multiple because if you just take one and stop, it has no effect. It has a cumulative effect. So I said when you get up in the morning, read your 30 scriptures. At middle of the day, read your 30 scriptures. At and the good thing about the word of God is medication you can't OD on it. The more you take, the better. And the more you worry, the more you need.”

#LiveYourFaith
“I always think that if our witness is not effective, we ought to check our conduct. Because oftentimes, people are trying to be effective in their witness, but their lifestyle does not match up in any way, shape, or form with what they are professing. And people notice that, believe it or not. I mean, it's funny how how, you know, people will get mad if if you try to point out something that's wrong. But if you're a believer and they know it and you start doing something, they'll let you know, but I thought you were a Christian. You know?”

#FaithfulGodPromises
“we know the person who promised is faithful. In other words, if God if this is what God said, you need to have absolute assurance in your heart that God is not a man that he should lie. That if God said it, God is watching over his word waiting to perform it in your life. And so you need to say it and say it and say it and say it and say it with authority and say it with conviction. And you can't you can't fake authority and conviction. And if you don't have authority and conviction in what the word of God has to say, it's because your relationship with God is in the garbage. Because the way authority and conviction comes is by knowing the person behind the word. When you know the person behind the word, you have absolute, confidence in what they said.”

#LeadWithGrace
“Everybody goes through them. And if the leader doesn't know how to handle difficulty the right way, then there's no example that is set for everybody else. And so he talks to the leaders first about how to handle them. And, basically, what he says is don't take out the difficulty on people. That's easy sometimes. Have you ever done that as a husband or a wife or or a parent? You go through you're going through something difficult, you take it out on everybody that's around you. Right? And so he he basically says, listen. I know it's hard. I know it's difficult, but but you can't lead that way.”

#StaySpirituallyAlert
“Many of us, we fall prey to the enemy because we are unprepared spiritually. We're not watching. We're not praying. We're not in our word. We're we're we're relying on somebody else to teach us the word. And and and and that's all we get of the word. We don't we don't get into it ourselves. We're not spending time with God. We're not watching and praying. And Peter's saying that you need to be clear minded. And by the way, will make your mind cloudy. There's a scripture that says that when there's ongoing sin in our life, we have a certain expectation of judgment. We're looking for something bad to happen.”

#HumbleForExaltation
“In other words, there are seasons where God wants to bring promotion into your life. He has set those seasons. And the the the the key to whether or not you're gonna experience those seasons is whether you're willing to surrender or humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. So even though God has set the season of your exaltation, you determine whether you receive your exaltation by your level of surrender to the Lord. And the more that you refuse to submit to the Lord, the more you forsake the seasons, the carols times of exaltation that God has for you. I think it was just this last Sunday we talked about the children of Israel. God intended for every one of them to go into the carousel season of the promised land.”

#HopeBeyondSuffering
“Chapter one chapter one is about hope in the middle of hardship and, basically, just encouraging them not to lose hope. And he talks about who they are. He reminds them they're chosen and redeemed, and they have an inheritance in heaven. And he he basically, the theme is don't don't interpret your future through your suffering. Interpret your suffering through your future. In other words, understand that there's this world is not all that there is.”

#ShieldOfFaith
“And above all, taking the shield of faith where which you should be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. A Roman soldier's shield was huge. It was it was as tall as I am. And it was made out of out of, leather like material of sorts, animal skin, and it was often saturated in in water or liquid and kept moist. And the reason why it was kept moist was because the enemies would literally launch fiery darts. And if it hit this shield, the the shield would extinguish the darts. And so what they did was they kept that shield of faith out in front. So they they charged with the shield out here. What is faith? Faith is an absolute assurance that what God said he'll do. So I charge into every battle, not with doubt that maybe God's gonna do it because a double minded man's unstable in all his ways. Let not that man or woman think that they shall receive anything of the lord. Well, pastor, I'm in a spiritual battle. I don't really know if god's gonna or if god's not gonna do it. Well, then the fiery darts are gonna light you on fire.”

#HumbleUnderGod
“God goes you know, we we stay in in the bounds of where God's blessings are. All of those kind of things happen when we stay under the mighty hand of God. And what it means, humility, basically, he says, therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. Humility is this. It's surrender to God's principles and God's ways. That's the best definition of humility that I can give you. Humility is is we think humility is don't take a compliment. There there there are some people who who don't like taking complicate compliments but are the most prideful people on the planet because they buck everything that God has to say.”

#LiveDifferently
“Yeah. We should feel uncomfortable where everybody is is talking about this exploit and that exploit. We we shouldn't feel comfortable in that setting. I I don't mean we should ridicule everybody in that setting, but there should be something on the inside of us that doesn't feel right. And he talks to them about living differently, and and and living differently than the world around them. And then in chapter number three, he talks about how to have godly conduct in difficult relationships.”
38s
#NotOfThisWorld
“he talks to them about a subject that we talk about in this church, but Christianity doesn't talk about it a lot. And that's he talks to them about living differently because Christians are called to live differently. We're not called to carry on like the world carries on. We're not called to have the same conduct that the world has. We should feel, at a place in settings that are, immersive in un in worldly things or godly things. We should not feel at home when everybody else is drinking.”

#GuardYourLife
“You know, I think we need to we need to have this where we're where some of us, we need to have, like, you know, closed. We're not open for business. Other people, they have that they have that open side, like, you know, just like, yeah. You know, you can pick on a lot of things because I just keep giving you stuff to pick on. Don't give the enemy the enemy ammunition in your life. That doesn't mean that we're, again, we're gonna be perfect, but let's not intentionally, like, hand them stuff to constantly launch thoughts on words. There you go again. Look at you. You're always doing that. And here's where it sticks, when it's right.”

#LearnFromFailure
“Right? And what Peter is doing, he's he's drawing from his own failures in order to teach. One of the greatest ways to teach is from your own failures. Right? Because you hope that people will learn from your failures. And so we teach our kids don't do that, not because we know that is gonna end up bad. Right? And for whatever reason, they sometimes like to learn all by themselves. And we've talked about this before that there are two ways to to learn in life, and that's mistakes and mentors. And mentors are always better. So Peter is talking to them. He's saying, look. You have to stay alert.”

#PutOnTheArmor
“For we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of heavenly places. So in order to in order to win this war, you gotta have armor on. You're not gonna win this war by being a casual Christian. And and this bible study, so we're we're we're trying to grow. Most Christians lose because they're casual. They don't have true conviction. They don't have true consecration. And so they lose the battles that they're supposed to win. There's too many open doors in their life. I'm not talking about unknowing open doors. Right? It's one thing if you don't know it. Right? It's another thing if you know it, you refuse to to get it right. You got a open door in your life. And when you got an open door, you're gonna lose this battle. So next verse.”

#CutWhatDrainsYou
“Well, I don't have time to read the bible. But I can spend five hours of screen time on my phone. But I don't have time to read the bible. But I can watch TV for four hours every day. Listen, when you are in a spiritual battle, you gotta get rid of some things in your life. You gotta be like, you know what I don't have time for? I don't have time for anything that is gonna put me at a spiritual deficit. I need to get serious with God. This is on lockdown right now. That might that might mean TV's gotta go. It may mean screen time. It may mean some people gotta go too. Some of you allow some thorns in your in your side too much. Don't let people do that to you. Why? What did Jesus do when he went to heal Jairus' daughter?”
62s
#ConvictionFromPrayer
“Because they had no conviction in the name of Jesus because they had no relationship with God. And so even though they were saying the right things, it wasn't backed by a conviction and a boldness that comes from spending time with God and knowing who God is because there's something different about that kind of conviction. There's there's that's that's the roar of the Christian against the roar of the devil. The roar of the Christian see, faith has a sound. And when when you're when you say it in a way that you're unsure of it, you you're it's not the sound of faith. And the enemy can tell the difference. Not trying to give him credit, but you can tell the difference what between somebody who's convinced of what they're saying and somebody who's just kinda saying the right thing because they have to. You know?”
43s
#DontBePrey
“Like a roaring lion, what does a roaring lion do? He he he roars in order to create intimidation. Anytime allow for fear to operate in our lives fear is gonna come, by the way. Just don't allow it to stay. Resist. Anything that comes into you can always can always prevent stuff from coming into your life. Right? Can always prevent trouble. Can always prevent trial. Can always prevent, bad situations from happening, but you can resist those things. You can do something about if you're operating in fear. If you're operating in fear, how do you overcome fear?”
44s
#PersevereInFaith
“You don't try God's word. Because try mean, I'm gonna see if this works. I don't know if it really does. No. You stand on God's word. You you you've already decided in your in your heart and in your mind, it works. If you're trying to figure out whether it does or it doesn't, you can't stand on it. You're you're beat already. And so you've gotta settle these things in your heart and mind. I'm standing on God's. I'm sticking with it whether it looks like it's working or it doesn't look like it's working because it's working. How do we know that? Well, think about all the examples in the bible.”
