Day 1: When Knowing Jesus Gets Your Fingers Dirty

True knowledge of Jesus isn’t about collecting facts but sinking hands into the soil of relationship. Like learning pottery by touching clay, following Christ requires messy engagement. Head knowledge alone leaves faith sterile. The Bible’s word for “know” (gnosis) implies intimacy and experience—a farmer’s dirt-under-nails familiarity, not a Google search. If faith stays abstract, it’s unripe. Real connection with Jesus reshapes daily habits, not just Sunday sentiments. [04:52]

John finally brings obedience into sharp focus: obeying Jesus means loving one another. The true light is already shining, and darkness is passing away. Love keeps believers in the light, while hate means choosing rejection, cutting off relationship, or treating a brother or sister as an other. Darkness blinds those who walk in it. Christ calls his family to repair harm, confess wrong plainly, seek forgiveness, and put flesh on the love of God.
