#LightIsLife
“In him and him alone is life because he is the creator and sustainer of life. And the life that is found in him is the light of men. It is how to understand everything in the world around us. Every other attempt to find your way to god or to find some other source of life is like a man fumbling around in pitch black darkness. Running up against walls, never finding the way. But here's the good news that John emphasizes that that the light, the light shines in the darkness.”

#CreatorIncarnate
“Nobody else in all creation can say, I came into the world. We start when ourselves combine. And we become a human being. Jesus started far before that. who is the creator entered into creation and this is exactly John's point. Jesus is not just another nobody claiming to be somebody. He's not just another religious leader like the Sanhedrin or the the heads of the synagogues. He's not on par with a political roller like Pilate or Herod. He is god and he perfectly reveals god.”

#EternalSon
“John's like, I'm going to do y'all one better. I'm going to go all the way back before Adam, before creation even and I'm going to show you that Jesus is the eternal son of god, the one with no origin but who is the originator of absolutely everything. And so let me introduce you to Jesus who is the word, who was in the beginning. Here's what I believe the spirit of god wants us to take home today as we study these first five verses in the book of John. Believe the word.”

#LightWins
“Darkness has not, indeed, it cannot overcome light. No matter how dark this world may seem, no matter how darkened a person's heart may be, god's light can illuminate that darkness. last Monday, my my parents took our family to Kenobles and they have this roller coaster there called the Phoenix and there's this significantly pitch black tunnel. I had no idea it was coming. So, it was it was kind of disorienting the first time that you go through it because because it's a lot darker and a lot longer than you would expect while you're on a roller coaster.”
