48s
“You know what grace is? Grace is giving you the hiking poles you don't deserve. Grace is giving you that backpack you can't afford. Mercy is withholding the things that you do deserve. Because of our sin crushed under temptation, we don't deserve this goodness. We don't deserve the holiness of God. We deserve death. We deserve spiritual separation. So God is giving both. Grace giving you what you can't earn, mercy withholding what you do deserve so that you can be successful on the path that he has designed for you.”
46s
“Without application, you're going to live in frustration. We do not suffer here in Go Church or in Denver from a lack of knowledge. Honestly, I'm not worried about you learning more new things. When I'm praying for you, I'm praying that you will apply the things you already know. We don't suffer from a knowledge problem. We suffer from an obedience problem. And parents in the house, just like how you would feel if you spent months and months and months and years trying to bring instruction to your child on a specific thing, and time and time and time again, they refuse to do it. And when you sit down at that dinner table, how does it feel?”
48s
“There are times when we must recognize that this is for the Lord. I can't heal my body. I can try to take good care of it, but I can't heal it. God can. I can't control my child's heart, but I can pray every day that they would open up their heart to God, and God can do that. I can't fix my marriage alone. I can't. But God can do a miracle between both of you. And you start to come together where Jesus is the axle upon which your marriage turns, not a Tupperware container in the fridge of your life. He's the whole thing. He can do it.”
