“Somewhere I read this line, the older brother was angry at grace. It's a moment for us to look inward as well. Sometimes we can be angry at God's grace when we've written people off as irredeemable. This sin is irredeemable or this group of people is irredeemable. There are there are sins, there are rebellions that are so large that I would never ever let them come back into my family. And if that's the narrative that is going on in our hearts, we have to recognize that we have the spirit of the older brother speaking and maybe we're angry at somebody else's grace. It's a dangerous place to be.”

“Each is different. The first parable, the shepherd chases the sheep that's wandered. In the second parable, the woman searches for the coin that doesn't even know it's lost. In the third parable, the father waits. But hear me here, in every single story, Jesus makes sure that we know the lost one is precious And heaven rejoices when the lost one is found. So to go back to the big idea that I began with today is this, not all lost people are the same way. They're not lost the same way, and so we don't reach them the same way.”
