#RememberWhoChangedYou
“When you're tempted to despair that someone will never change, remember who changed you. The washing of regeneration, the renewal of the holy spirit. See, your neighbor doesn't ultimately need you to win the argument. Your unbelieving child doesn't merely need better behavior. Your coworker doesn't need better politics or better values or to know what all that you know. They need what you need. They need the mercy of god. They need Jesus Christ. They need the regenerating power of the holy spirit working within them.”

#SavedByMercy
“Maybe you're listening. You're really caught up in verse three. You see yourself more clearly in verse three than verses four through seven. Don't hear me saying clean yourself up and maybe god will accept you. Hear the good news. He saves us. Not because of works done by us in righteousness, not but but but according to his own mercy, You don't need a better version of yourself. You need God's mercy in Jesus Christ. And the God whose kindness appeared in Jesus saves sinners, makes us new by his spirit, justifies us by his grace, and makes us heirs of eternal life.”

#GraceLeadsToGood
“And so we don't treat people graciously because they deserve grace. We treat people graciously because we have received grace, and that's why we don't withdraw from the world. That's why we don't assimilate to the world. That's why we don't stand over against the world and contempt. We're ready to do good. We watch how we speak about our church, about our neighbors, about our presidents, governors, senators, school board, district people, all of them.”
