#StandBeforeGod
“``Now let's just cut to the chase. This isn't just a great parable with a shocking twist. There's truth in real life, and Jesus knows this as he's giving it, from the parable to the to real life. And I I need you not to miss it. There's a day there's a day coming when my my life is gonna be required. There's a day coming when my life will be demanded from me and yours too. We don't know the day or the timing. There's no extensions. There's no negotiation. And you need to know Jesus didn't come to this earth, live the life he did, die on the cross, resurrected, all of that stuff just to help us make this current life work better. No. He came to prepare us to stand before god.”

#SoulOverSavings
“Jesus gave himself to do what you couldn't. Being rich towards starts with receiving Christ and trusting what he did on his night to prepare you for yours. Now, second thing I want you to do is I want you to consider. I want you to consider this question. If tonight was your last night, what are you trusting your soul to? Your savings can't answer for you. Neither can your career, neither can your reputation, and neither can all those great works that you have done in your life or anything you have built, everyone someone else gets all of it on that night.”

#RunToJesusNow
“And listen, folks, life is moving faster than any of us wanna wanna admit. But here's the beauty and here's the hope. In this moment, you're not there yet. You're breathing right now. That's mercy. There's there's still time to run to the one who walked into his own night where he was betrayed and willingly gave it up for you. To to run towards the one who willingly became poor so that you could be rich towards God.”

#YourLifeMayBeRequired
“Do you feel do the force of that? Demanded. Some translations say required. That is not a gentle word. It has the feeling of a debt, like when a when a loan comes due. This guy is talking and thinking in years, God suddenly changes everything and says, tonight. That's his new reality. God god's god's basically saying to this guy, you assumed your life, your soul was yours just the way you viewed your barns. Wrong. They were entrusted to you, but they're all of it, including your life, accountable to me. You've built brilliantly for the wrong future.”

#TemporaryNotUltimate
“The whole story has been about this guy's stuff, my crops, my barn, my surplus, my soul. And in one night, all of those mys, they expire. It all goes to someone else. Jesus is never saying, doesn't say that what you do in this life doesn't matter. That's not the takeaway. It it matters enormously. What you do with this life has a bearing on what you experience in the next. But this life is temporary. And in this temporary life, it carries eternal significance. God's calling him out not because this guy actually had some thoughts about temporary things. We do. No. He's 's calling them out because he treated temporary things like ultimate things.”

#RespectableGreed
“Now that phrase, all kinds of greed. Interesting. Apparently, there's types. Obviously, there's what I would just call blatant greed. The kind everyone sees because it flaunts itself. More money, more stuff, more more to show off, easy to spot, especially in other people. But there's a more subtle one. I I just call it respectable greed. It's respectable. It calls itself responsibility. It says, hey, I'm just being wise. It hides behind things like providing for your family, protecting your future, making sure no one ever can have leverage over you again.”

#PossessionsDontDefineYou
“Jesus is laying some real groundwork here. And just so we're clear, Jesus ain't saying that possessions themselves are the problem. They can do a lot of great things. You all know this. He's saying the issue is, what are you asking your possessions to be for you to do for you? And Jesus says, they can't define you. They can't tell you the meaning of life. They can't tell you who you are. They cannot secure soul.”

#BiggerBarnsFalseSecurity
“Because what are what are bigger barns? Bigger barns are whatever we keep building, storing, managing, protecting, that because somewhere deep inside, we believe, once I have this all settled, I'll finally have life down. That'll be my place to go when the turmoil hits. What is it for you? A number in the bank? House paid off? A secure pension, an investment portfolio target, business that runs itself so you never really have to work, kids financially independent, a perfectly planned retirement. What? Like, I what? What is it?”
