Rejoice today by naming God’s faithfulness in concrete ways; take a moment this morning to thank God for three specific ways He has cared for you this week, speak one of those thanks aloud, and carry that gratitude into how you greet others this day. [51:58]
Psalm 118:24 (ESV)
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Reflection: This morning, write down three ways God showed His faithfulness in the last seven days and tell one person one of those things before noon.
Love is the mark of those born of God; show that love practically by choosing humility, listening first, and offering care across cultural and language lines—seek out someone from a different generation or language group in the church this week, invite them for coffee, and listen to their story with the intention of loving them as Christ loves. [48:07]
1 John 4:7-12 (ESV)
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
Reflection: This week, identify one person in the church from a different language or age group and invite them to coffee after a service; listen for at least twenty minutes and ask one question that helps you understand how to love them better.
Remember that the church is Christ’s work—no circumstance, opposition, or setback ultimately defeats the mission; stand confidently in the call to be part of God’s advancing kingdom, trusting that efforts to gather, make disciples, and proclaim Jesus will not be undone. [53:46]
Matthew 16:18 (ESV)
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Reflection: Write the name of one unbelieving person you are praying for; today at 5:00 p.m., spend ten focused minutes praying specifically for them and then send a short, simple invitation for them to join you at church next Sunday.
Baptism is the visible, joyful expression of dying to the old and rising with Christ; whether preparing to be baptized or celebrating others, treat baptism as the central demonstration of what God is doing—if you have never taken that step, start the conversation with leaders today, and if you have, bring someone to watch the next baptism and share why it matters. [40:20]
Romans 6:3-4 (ESV)
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Reflection: If you have not been baptized, speak with a leader at the Connect desk before you leave today; if you are baptized, choose one friend to invite to watch a baptism next Sunday and give them an invite card before you leave.
Serving and stewarding the gifts God gives—time, skill, and generosity—builds the kingdom and blesses the city; look for tangible ways to support volunteers and ministries (cleaning, production, hospitality, support groups like PALS) and consider how your gifts can meet real needs in the weeks ahead. [43:53]
1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
Reflection: Before you leave today, find one volunteer who served this morning and give them a handwritten note of thanks or offer one hour of your time this month to help their team; then sign up at the Connect desk.
What a day to rejoice in God’s faithfulness. We gathered as one church—English and Español—celebrating baptisms and the simple truth that buildings are only tools; people are the mission. I loved telling the story of a sister who, after serving all day to prepare the campus, asked for 20 invite cards so she could invite more people that night. That is our heart: we steward space so the lost can be found, the found can be formed, and the formed can be sent. We honored so many servants—production, worship, facilities, countless volunteers—because ministry is built on unseen faithfulness. We also celebrated Kim and Michelle Humphrey, whose sacrifices have blessed us deeply, and we committed our local year-end giving to PALS, serving families walking through addiction. That’s light shining near and far, starting at 7th Ave and Bethany Home.
Together we prayed a vision over this sanctuary: that saints would be equipped, the lost engaged, disciples multiplied; that baptistry water would never stay still for long; that altars would be full, chains would break, our city would be blessed, and revival would break out. We asked God to make this place a tool for his fame among generations and nations. And we didn’t just pray about a room—we prayed about people, naming loved ones who don’t yet know Jesus, asking God to use us and this space to draw them from death to life. That is why we’re here: for the glory of Jesus and the good of Phoenix and beyond. If you’re ready to step in—serve, invite, pray, give—this is the time. Let’s fill every corner of this campus with people who are ready to meet Jesus, grow in him, and lead others to do the same.
- Romans 6:3-4 — Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. - Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
God, you have been faithful through every high, through every low, and God, we celebrate you today. We ask for more from you today. God, I know that you want all men, all women to be saved, and we just pray that we would be a vessel towards that end. And this place would be a kingdom outpost for your glory, for our good, and the good of Phoenix and beyond. [01:07:13] (29 seconds) #KingdomOutpostPhoenix
Church, buildings don't matter unless we have people in them. Thank you for being here. Thank you for serving. Thank you for praying. Thank you for inviting other people. We want on the corner of 7th Avenue and Bethany Home the glory of God to come down and people come to know Jesus Christ, grow in Jesus Christ, lead other people to do the same. That is why we are here. [02:16:55] (25 seconds) #PeopleOverBuildings
As I prayed, as I wrote, as I looked at Scriptures, just dreaming about what God could do with this place, this place is not the temple. This place is a tool for the glory of God and the furthering of his name and fame, starting at 7th Avenue and Bethany Home to the ends of the earth. Amen, church? That's why we're here. [02:37:09] (21 seconds) #ToolForGodsGlory
This place is not the temple. This place is a tool for the glory of God and the furthering of his name and fame, starting at 7th Avenue and Bethany Home to the ends of the earth. Amen, church? That's why we're here. And as I spent time as your pastor praying and writing, I just thought I could read some of those prayers to you. But then I thought, hey, this is not my church. This is Jesus' church. [02:37:16] (24 seconds) #HisChurchNotMine
In this place, saints will be equipped. In this place, the lost will be engaged. In this place, disciples will multiply. In this place, this is my favorite, y'all ready to read this one? In this place, baptism tanks will constantly need refilling. Praise God. [02:38:28] (23 seconds) #DisciplesMultiply
In this place, our city will be blessed. In this place, voices will be loud and mostly on pitch. All right. In this place, I love this one too. Kids will fill the aisles and we'll try not to trip over them. In this place, coffee and conversations will linger. In this place, God we pray altars will be full. [02:38:53] (30 seconds) #ChurchLifeTogether
In this place, chains will break. In this place, revival will break out. Here's our last one. In this place, the love of Jesus will move across generations and nations for his glory and our joy. And everybody said Amen. Amen. You can be seated. [02:39:23] (21 seconds) #RevivalStartsHere
``Our desire is not to see a building updated and some fancy new LED screens and a sound system, although we're thankful for it, just to be clear. Our desire is to see every corner of this building filled with people who are broken and need healing, who are lost and need to be found, who are dead and need to be made alive in Jesus Christ alone. [02:40:05] (26 seconds) #PeopleNotScreens
Our desire is to see every corner of this building filled with people who are broken and need healing, who are lost and need to be found, who are dead and need to be made alive in Jesus Christ alone. So would you pray just for a moment? I know you got some people in your life, maybe a brother, maybe a sister, maybe a cousin, maybe a neighbor, maybe a co-worker who does not know Jesus yet. [02:40:15] (29 seconds) #PrayForTheLost
Thank you for this body of believers at 9 a.m. and 10.30, for PBC Espanol, for kids, for adults, for bringing us all together as the manifold wisdom of God. Thank you Jesus for building your church that even the gates of hell cannot prevail against. God, you're so good. You're so faithful. We worship you. We give you all the glory. [02:59:56] (23 seconds) #BuiltByJesus
