#HolyWaterRenewal
“Believing, belonging, and becoming. Those three words may not capture everything that baptism is because at the end of the day, it's a mystery. It's a holy mystery. Where we get in these waters and in a lot of ways, they're just water. And yet as we bless them and as we join with God's hands in performing this rite and ritual that goes back literally thousands of years, something mysterious more than we can explain in the physical world happens as Christ's love overwhelms us, as we dive into the water to leave behind something old and rise into something new.”

#AvaGracePromise
“No one can take it away from her. No one can prevent her from receiving it. What we do today honors and acknowledges the grace that God already gives. Within the care of her family and under the nurture and care and love and support of this church and this faith community. This baptism today points forward to Ava's personal response to God's grace when she chooses for herself one day to follow Jesus Christ. And at that point in time this baptism will culminate and complete itself. What we do today begins a process that will span the next years of Ava's childhood until she is at the point that she is ready to confirm it.”

#SacramentGrace
“Since baptism is a sacrament, this is a sacred time in the life of Ava's family and our church family. We believe that Christ gave this holy sacrament as a sign and a seal of the new covenant. Christian baptism signifies for this young child of God, God's acceptance on the basis of grace. That grace is present already now in Ava's life. No one can take it away from her. And at that point in time this baptism will culminate and complete itself.”
