As a new season approaches, begin not with worry but with worship. Awakening is the holy nudge to pay attention—God is moving, and you’re invited to notice it. He often asks for a song before the breakthrough, praise before the change, thanksgiving before the evidence. This is not denial; it’s faith aligning with a promise that hasn’t fully appeared yet. Lift your eyes, open your mouth, and let gratitude prepare the ground for growth. [44:45]
“Burst into singing even where things feel barren. Widen your space, stretch past safe limits, don’t hold back; secure your foundations because you will spread out and not be put to shame.” Isaiah 54:1-4
Reflection: What is one specific “barren-looking” place in your life where you will choose to thank God this week before you see any change, and how will you express that thanks each day?
Alignment is not about doing more; it’s about staying connected to Jesus. He is the vine; you are the branch, and apart from him even good activity runs empty. Pruning is not rejection—it’s preparation for greater fruit, removing what competes for your attention and deepening your dependence on God. Sometimes this means trimming even good things to make space for the best things. Stay rooted in his presence, his word, his Spirit, and his people, and let him shape what remains. [46:34]
“I am the true vine and my Father tends it. Fruitful branches are trimmed so they can bear even more. Remain in me as I remain in you—no branch bears fruit by itself; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:1-5
Reflection: What is one habit, commitment, or expectation God may be inviting you to prune for a month so that your abiding in Jesus becomes more consistent and unhurried?
God does not send you forward unprotected; he clothes you with strength to stand. Truth holds everything together, righteousness guards your heart, and peace stabilizes your steps. Faith lifts a shield against fear and lies—and grows stronger when joined with others. Salvation steadies your mind, and God’s word, spoken in faith, cuts through confusion. Prayer keeps the armor fitted, aligned, and active, turning information into power. [58:53]
“Be strong in the Lord and put on the whole armor so you can stand against the enemy’s schemes. Fasten truth, guard your heart with Christ’s righteousness, be ready with the good news of peace, lift the shield of faith to put out flaming attacks, cover your mind with salvation, and wield the Spirit’s sword—the word of God. Pray at all times and stay alert.” Ephesians 6:10-18
Reflection: Which piece of the armor feels most needed for you right now, and what one concrete practice this week will help you ‘wear’ it securely?
God doesn’t author your pain, yet he masterfully works through it to shape you. The pressures that ache today can become the very places where trust grows resilient and hope matures. You don’t grow most in comfort; you grow as you cling to Jesus in the storm, choosing faith in the middle rather than at the end. Let peace lead your steps, even while circumstances are still unsettled. Trust that nothing is wasted in his hands. [51:07]
“We are confident that for those who love God, he is weaving everything—every circumstance—together for good, according to his purpose for their lives.” Romans 8:28
Reflection: What specific pressure are you carrying today, and what is one small act of trust you can practice in response (a prayer, a conversation, an apology, or a pause to rest)?
Awake, aligned, and armored, you are ready to move—step for step—with Jesus. This is not reckless rushing; it’s obedient courage rooted in his presence and promise. Enlarge your expectations and strengthen your foundations, because God is extending your reach. Give him your yes, not in grand gestures but in faithful next steps. The One who began this work is the First and the Last; he holds your start, your finish, and every step between. [01:03:54]
“I am the A to Z, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:13
Reflection: What clear, specific step of obedience have you been delaying, and when this week will you take that next small step with Jesus—neither rushing ahead nor holding back?
With the year drawing to a close, attention is directed to how God forms a people who finish well and enter the future with clarity: awake, aligned, armoured, and activated. The journey is framed by Isaiah 54’s promise of expansion, John 15’s call to abiding and pruning, Ephesians 6’s armor of God, and Revelation’s assurance that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. Awakening is the Spirit’s nudge to sing before the breakthrough, to see by faith what has not yet appeared, and to recognize that God is preparing hearts for His purposes. Alignment then becomes the non-negotiable center, not increased activity but deeper connection—abiding in Christ, submitting to pruning, and letting God remove both distractions and good things that are not the best, so fruitfulness can increase.
Alignment precedes activation because acceleration without abiding leads to burnout. Before God enlarges the tent, He strengthens the stakes; before expanding influence, He deepens roots. The Spirit also equips, not with mere metaphors, but with a way of standing: truth that stabilizes when emotions sway; Christ’s righteousness guarding identity; footwear of peace that grips the ground and sends the church forward without striving; the shield of faith that reframes circumstances by God’s reality and locks together in community; the helmet of salvation settling the mind; and the sword of the Spirit declared aloud in faith. Prayer holds it all together, transforming doctrine into lived power and keeping the armor fitted to aligned lives.
Activation, then, is not frantic motion; it is obedient, covered movement. Isaiah 54’s “enlarge… stretch… don’t hold back” is tethered to “strengthen your stakes,” so expansion does not outgrow foundation. Like arrows prepared in a quiver, many have been heated, straightened, and readied; some are already launched, others are about to be sent. Confidence rests here: Jesus is the beginning and the end, present in every step. Entering the new year calls for three clear commitments: stay awake to what God is saying and doing; stay aligned by abiding in Christ and rooted in His people; and step out obediently—activated but not striving. The Alpha and Omega goes before, the Vine sustains, and the armor covers; therefore, courage is not borrowed from circumstance but born of communion.
As I prayed about today, uh, the Lord reminded me of three words, words that we've been talking about this year. Um, the words are awakening, alignment, and activation. I believe these three words form a sequence, a, a progression, and I believe they continue to shape us as a church prophetically. [00:40:59] (23 seconds) #AwakenAlignActivate
And then the Lord brought me back to one of the strongest prophetic passages that's been spoken over our church over the last couple of years. And that's from Isaiah 54. Now, this is the passage about expansion. It's about stretching. It's about fruitfulness and a divine promise. But every promise of God comes with a process. And we posture ourselves as we contend for that promise. [00:41:45] (29 seconds) #StretchingForPromise
And today I believe that God wants to shape us and continue to shape us for 2026 by showing us how to walk into that promise with, with strength and with power. How to stand firm when pressure comes and how to really flourish in a season of pruning, a season of growth, and a season of expansion. Because if you haven't noticed, um, God is expanding us. He's drawing us into more of who he is. [00:42:13] (31 seconds) #WalkIntoPromise
So here's some questions that I've been asking myself and that have been sitting with me over the last little while. How do we step into these promises well, both as individuals and as a church? How do we move forward without rushing ahead of God? How do we activate without striving? And how do we expand and still stand firm? [00:43:51] (25 seconds) #StepWithGod
God is and has been, uh, wakening us to what he is doing. Prophetically, he is speaking loud and clear. Um, we're beginning to realize what God is doing. Awakening is that moment when something stirs inside us and we realize, hey, God is doing something. And I want to partner with what God is doing in this world and in our own lives as well. [00:44:18] (27 seconds) #AwakenedToHisWork
I believe that is part of awakening. Seeing in faith before we see with our eyes, before we, we physically see things happening or even spiritually sense things happening. We've been awakened. Awakening is God saying, pay attention, I'm getting you ready. And for so many this year, there has been an awakening, maybe a reawakening in us. And, uh, I believe it really shows in Harmony Church. There is people that are being awakened and aligned and activated and just living their best life in God. [00:45:00] (37 seconds) #FaithBeforeSight
See, pruning, cutting things off in our life, it's not rejection. It's not punishment. It's actually preparation for what God is doing. You know, if parts of this year has felt for you like God is trimming things back, maybe dealing with bad habits in you, maybe changing your priorities or your expectations, even some good things that he's asked you to prune back. That's not a sign that he's stepping away. It's a sign he's positioning you for greater fruitfulness. [00:46:30] (35 seconds) #PrunedForFruitfulness
See, it's quite possible to stay really busy for God and be disconnected from God. It's possible to be activated but misaligned. And when that happens, we often, we burn out. We run out of energy. We continue striving, but we lose our fruitfulness. And pruning actually helps the alignment in our lives. It removes what competes for our attention and it draws us back to dependence on him. It reminds us where our life really comes from. [00:47:05] (38 seconds) #AlignmentOverActivity
Before God increases our influence, he deepens our roots. Before he enlarges the tent, he strengthens the stakes. Before activation comes alignment. And the temptation is to not be connected to the source and just rush off with a do, do, do, do, do without being connected. [00:47:42] (24 seconds) #DeepRootsThenIncrease
And further to that, alignment is about staying rooted in his presence. I love it when we talk about his presence as our priority. It's about remaining rooted in his word, being led by his spirit, being led into his ways, and being rooted in church and staying rooted with other believers, other people. [00:48:06] (24 seconds) #RootedInHisPresence
Now, see, God doesn't cause things, bad things to happen to you. He's not the one that makes bad things happen, but he does allow this broken world that we live in to shape us and refine us. He's the absolute master of turning pain, of turning brokenness and hurt and rejection and all those things into something that will bring him glory through your life. [00:51:02] (27 seconds) #RefinedThroughBrokenness
Tough times can be times when we are molded and shaped into what God wants us to be. And once we've been awakened and aligned, God doesn't leave us exposed. He equips us. [00:51:42] (17 seconds) #MoldedByTrials
The book of Ephesians, we went through the book of Ephesians this year. We preached a series and you may remember that and you may remember where we talked about the armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6. Paul begins Ephesians chapter 6 like this. He says, See, that's really alignment language. Not strong in yourself, not strong in experience, not strong in just enthusiasm, but strong in the Lord. [00:51:59] (33 seconds) #StrongInTheLord
The armor of God is not just symbolic. It's not symbolic. It's practical. It's useful. It's necessary for us as Christians to be clothed in the armor of God. And notice this. Paul gives us the armor after teaching us how to walk with God, after being aligned. [00:52:31] (20 seconds) #PracticalArmorOfGod
The first one is the belt of truth. See, truth holds everything together. Without truth, everything else shifts. Truth stabilizes us when emotions rise and fall. Truth anchors us when culture changes and society has pressure on us to conform to certain things. Truth aligns us when pressure comes. And for the end of the year ahead, or sorry, for the year ahead, we must be people who know God's word, who trust God's promises and live honestly before him and before others. The belt of truth. [00:53:17] (39 seconds) #TruthThatAnchors
The next one is the breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness guards our heart. It's not our righteousness. It's Christ's righteousness. You see, the enemy will attack our identity, the very essence of who we are in Christ, and say things like, oh, you're not enough. You've failed way too often. You're useless. You're disqualified because of the things you've done. See, the breastplate reminds us that I stand before God righteous because of Jesus. The truth protects our hearts in seasons of stretching and of growth. [00:54:02] (39 seconds) #RighteousInChrist
And I love this point of interest. The breastplate goes on the front. There's no armor that goes on your back. So we are designed with this armor. It's designed so we're actually facing forward into the battles. We're not turning our backs. We're not running away. The armor is there so we can face life and face our battles and face the enemy head on. And in that position, we stand. We stand firm. [00:54:41] (27 seconds) #FaceTheBattle
The next one is the shoes of the gospel of peace. These are about stability. They're about being ready. See, Roman soldiers wore footwear designed to grip the ground. Peace keeps us steady when things shake. Peace keeps us standing. The gospel, it's the gospel of peace. The gospel keeps us moving, gives us a motivation. When God calls us forward, the gospel gives us a direction to go. [00:55:08] (32 seconds) #StandInPeace
The next one's the shield of faith. Faith's not denying what's happening around us. Faith is choosing to trust God in the middle of our circumstances. Any circumstances that we happen to be in. That what he has said and what he has promised is true. And we live according to what he has said. Not according to the circumstances. Because reality is what God says it is. And I want to align my focus on what God is saying. Not on the circumstances that surround me. [00:56:14] (34 seconds) #FaithOverCircumstance
And keeping our focus on God's reality will not only open the path before us. But it will begin to extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy. Things like fear. Things like doubt or accusations. Or even temptation that comes our way. When we're standing with that shield of faith. It extinguishes those things. And remember this. I like this as well. The Roman shields, they were designed to lock together. See, faith grows stronger in community. We stand better together. [00:56:48] (37 seconds) #FaithExtinguishesFear
