#JoyAnchored
“Jesus didn't come to make bad people better. He may come to make spiritually dead people alive. So, we're seeing here. So, any shortcomings that we're seeing is because god has to do that work in us. He has to pursue produce those things that are planted in us to grow in us. In John 15, Jesus says, I'm the vine, you are the branches.”

#SavedByGrace
“``That's totally different. Happiness is an emotion that hinges on what happens to you. Joy is a cell of confidence in god's goodness regardless of what's going on. It's like a balloon versus an anchor. Happiness is like in a balloon. When when things are going up, When things are happy, it rises until the sharp edge of disappointment hits and then it crashes.”

#SpiritualFuel
“Versus joy would be more like an anchor. Immovable because it's attached even in the midst of a storm. It's attached to something greater than the storm. It's what joy looks like, a settled confidence in Christ. You may not be happy. It's not stolen your joy. So we're to rejoice always and it says pray constantly. As you're rejoicing, always,”

#RevengeIsSin
“``Ultimately, it's not what we're talking about, not trying harder to be nicer. It'd be like trying to, on your own willpower, to drive a car on an empty tank. Just won't work. Verses 16 through 18 are in a real way the fuel for the tank. So, we see here Paul immediately follows this command to pursue goodness, pursue peace, through three daily habits.”
