Day 1: Anchored in God-Breathed Truth

The Bible isn’t just helpful advice—it’s the breath of God, unchanging and trustworthy. Like an anchor holding a boat steady, Scripture keeps us from drifting when culture shifts or doubts arise. It corrects wrong thinking, exposes sin, and realigns our hearts. To live under its authority is to build on a foundation that never fails. When emotions or trends pull us, God’s Word remains fixed. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Day 2: Identity Received, Not Created

We don’t define ourselves—God does. Culture, past failures, or social media often claim authority over our worth, but Scripture declares we’re masterpieces shaped by the Creator. Anchoring in God’s truth means rejecting labels the world slaps on us and clinging to who He says we are: chosen, redeemed, and purposefully designed. [21:26]

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Day 3: The Tension That Prevents Drifting

An anchor only works when connected. That rope represents submission—allowing Scripture to pull us back when we wander. The tension we feel isn’t restriction but rescue. It’s God’s Word saying, “This isn’t who you are,” realigning us with truth when lies try to sweep us away. [30:03]

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Day 4: The Deciding Vote in Every Choice

Scripture isn’t a consultant we occasionally call—it’s the CEO of our lives. It gets the final say in relationships, finances, and fears. To anchor here means filtering every decision through God’s Word, not feelings or trends. When culture shouts, “This way!” the Bible whispers, “I AM the way.” [31:07]

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Day 5: Re-Anchoring When You’ve Drifted

Even if you’ve let go, the anchor hasn’t moved. God’s Word stays true whether we’re clinging to it or floating adrift. Returning isn’t about shame—it’s about grabbing hold again. His truth still defines, corrects, and steadies, no matter how far the current has carried you. [34:14]

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.

Paul writes to Timothy in a time where truth is being challenged, culture is shifting, and people are drifting away from what they once believed. Paul tells the young leader to “remain faithful” to the holy Scriptures that had been laid as a foundation from childhood, because those Scriptures give wisdom for salvation through trusting in Christ Jesus. God’s word stands as a trusted source, not changing, not contradicting who God is, and not shifting with the moment.

The authority of Scripture means the Bible is God’s word, and it has the final say over what a person believes and how a person lives. Scripture is not just helpful, not just inspiring, and not just another good read. Scripture should be defining because it is God breathed, and if it comes from God, it carries God’s authority. God’s word is meant to have authority over every area of life, including thoughts, decisions, relationships, influences, homes, marriages, and daily direction.

The anchor image gives shape to the whole call. An anchor prevents drifting and holds position, and God’s word is meant to do the same in a believer’s life. The world is full of chaos, confusion, fear, and loud voices, but God’s word remains a fixed point. If Scripture is not the authority, something else will be: culture, feelings, experiences, social media, fear, failure, addiction, or the phrase “this is just who I am.”

God’s word teaches what is true and corrects what is wrong. God’s word teaches who God is, who people are, how life works, and what is happening in the world. God’s word also confronts wrong thinking, exposes sin, and reveals where drifting has happened over time. God does not just shame a person for being wrong; God’s word pulls a person back into place and shows what is right.

God’s word shapes identity by reminding God’s people that identity is received, not created. Scripture says a person is God’s masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made, created in God’s image, and chosen by God. God’s word directs decisions by becoming the deciding vote, not just another vote. Every decision gets filtered through what God has already said.

The anchor only helps when a person is actually connected to it. An unused Bible, an agreed-with Bible, or a decorative Bible cannot hold a drifting life steady. The rope represents surrender and submission to God’s word. Christ himself is the true anchor, and knowledge of Scripture misses the point without surrender to Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Your identity is not found in what you can do on your own. Your identity is not found in the success that you find. Your identity has been created by the God of the universe who formed and fashioned you and placed you in your mother's womb, who created a universe and created life and brought you into this world. Come on. Our identity is found in Christ. Amen.”

“And what I know about this anchor, come on, we know that it prevents drifting. We know that it holds position, but at the same time, what I understand is you can't stay connected to something that you never connected to. You can't stay connected to something that you never attached yourself to. What does that mean? That means even though I've got an anchor, I know that it prevents drifting. I know that it holds position. If I don't attach myself to it, all it can ever do is stay put where it is. What does this look like for us today? Well, a lot of us, come on, we have our own bible. We believe in the bible. We agree with the bible. But just because you have an anchor doesn't mean you're connected to it.”
