48s
“But the Holy Spirit will lead us. We actually trust. Right. And he will guide us. Right. Until then, hopefully, maybe we can start putting these masks down and actually working on the true transformation in our lives so we can present ourselves as the image of god, the fully accepted image. Jesus didn't die so that we could become better performers. died so that we could become fully known and fully loved. And when we begin to deeply believe that we can hopefully stop living for the applause of man and start living for the audience of what he is.”
33s
“Because fear says, I can't afford for them to reject me. And instead of kind of sitting with that, we throw on a mask, and then the mask says, well, I'll become whoever I need to be so they don't reject me. Right. But then hypocrisy says, maintaining this appearance is more important than allowing God to actually transform what's underneath.”
32s
“But Jesus is helping us to reorder our fear. That's right. He is saying that you have given ultimate authority to people who have temporary power. Yes. They can reject you. Yes. They can kill me. They've done it to me. This is Jesus. Obviously, they didn't do it to him at that moment. But looking back, they did it to him. They only have limited power.”
