48s
“Here is why. Because in verses one through two, God says, you enter my presence as an unholy person and you will die. That's why there is fuss. Isaiah chapter 59, it says, your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God. God does not abide with sin, And with us, there is sin. Therefore, there is separation between us and God. Therefore, the sacrifices in this day, all of them were calculated to show how our sin could be separated from us that we might be brought near to God.”
35s
“The only way that you can know who God is is through the person of Christ. That's Christ in his apostolic work. But Christ in his priestly work represents us to God that we might be brought near to him. It is only through Christ as our great high priest that a once severed relationship can be reunited. First Peter chapter three and Ephesians chapter two say that Christ's intention in coming to the in coming to the world was to bring us near to God. Ephesians chapter two says, you are brought near by the blood of Christ.”
36s
“You see how there's separation of their sins from them through this goat? I told you at the beginning of Leviticus 16 that the reason why all these sacrifices and offerings are necessary is because we have made a separation between ourselves and God by our iniquities. John the Baptist, he cried out and he said, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Just like the scapegoat. He bears all of our iniquities on his back and he goes away to a solitary land on the cross, so that our sins are separated from us.”

“it'll be no small part of glorifying Christ in our eternity to look upon him whom we have pierced. To glorify him for his intercessory work, that work will never stop. It will never cease. Hundreds of thousands of eons from now, Christ will still be our intercessor appearing before God for us. This is our security. This is our salvation. This is why we are safe. It's because Christ is our intercessor. And we can be in the presence of God because he he made application of his sacrifice.”
