Believers can rest assured that their salvation is eternally secure in Jesus, and nothing can separate them from His hand.
The assurance of salvation is not based on human effort or merit, but on the unchanging promise and power of God. Jesus Himself declared that His sheep hear His voice, He knows them, and they follow Him; He gives them eternal life, and no one can snatch them out of His hand. This security is further reinforced by the Father's greatness—no one is able to snatch believers out of the Father's hand either. If you have placed your faith in Christ, you can have confidence that your name is written in the Book of Life and that your future with Him is secure, regardless of your past or present struggles. [17:21]
John 10:27-30 (NASB)
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."
Reflection: In what area of your life do you struggle to trust that God truly holds you securely? How can you surrender that fear to Him today and rest in His promise?
Only those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be saved from eternal separation from God.
At the final judgment, all will stand before God, and the books will be opened—including the Book of Life. Those whose names are not found in this book will be cast into the lake of fire, but those who belong to Jesus are spared from this fate. The Book of Life contains the names of those who have trusted in Christ for salvation, and this record is permanent and unchangeable. The reality of this coming judgment should lead each person to examine their heart and ensure their name is written in the Book of Life, not by works, but by faith in Jesus. [06:02]
Revelation 20:11-15 (NASB)
"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Reflection: If you were to stand before God today, are you confident your name is written in the Book of Life? What step can you take today to be sure of your salvation?
Salvation is a free gift from God, received by faith in Jesus Christ, not by works.
God’s plan for salvation is rooted in His love and grace, not in human achievement. Jesus was lifted up so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but to save it. The only requirement is to believe in Jesus as the Son of God, confess your sins, and submit your life to Him. This faith brings about a new birth and a new identity as a child of God, and it is the only way to escape judgment and receive eternal life. [21:36]
John 3:14-18 (NASB)
"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Reflection: Who in your life needs to hear that salvation is a free gift through faith in Jesus? How can you share this truth with them this week?
The Holy Spirit changes lives, guiding believers to grow and live differently from the world.
When a person receives Christ, the Holy Spirit enters their life, bringing about real and lasting change. Old desires fade, new understanding of God’s Word emerges, and behaviors begin to reflect the character of Jesus. This transformation may be immediate or gradual, but it is always evidence of God’s work within. The Spirit helps believers discern right from wrong, empowers them to serve, and continually shapes them into the likeness of Christ. Even when believers stumble, the Spirit remains, guiding them back to God’s path. [22:38]
John 14:26 (NASB)
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you."
Reflection: In what specific way have you noticed the Holy Spirit changing your desires or actions since coming to faith? How can you invite Him to continue that work in you today?
The purpose of the believer’s life is to trust, obey, and serve God, reflecting Jesus to the world.
God has a unique plan for every believer, and that plan continues until He calls them home. There is no retirement from serving God; each day is an opportunity to let the light of Jesus shine through your actions, words, and attitudes. Even in times of failure or uncertainty, God’s love and purpose remain. The Christian life is a journey of continual growth, learning, and service, with the ultimate goal of glorifying God and pointing others to Him. [29:30]
Colossians 3:23-24 (NASB)
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."
Reflection: What is one practical way you can serve God or someone else today that will let the light of Jesus shine through you?
Today’s focus is on the security of the believer—what it means to be truly saved, how we can know our salvation is secure, and why this assurance matters for our lives and eternity. Salvation is not something we earn or maintain by our own efforts; it is a gift from a sovereign, faithful, and just God. Every person has eternal life—the only question is where that eternity will be spent. The book of Revelation paints a sobering picture of the final judgment, where the Book of Life contains the names of those who belong to Jesus, and only those whose names are written there are spared from eternal separation from God.
Reflecting on my own journey, I shared how God’s hand was on me even before I knew Him. From near-death experiences in my youth to moments of physical danger and illness, God preserved me for a purpose, even when I was far from Him. My story is a testimony to God’s persistent grace and the truth that He knows each of us intimately, even before we come to faith. The transformation that comes with salvation is real and tangible—our desires, actions, and even our friendships change as the Holy Spirit takes residence in our lives.
The Bible assures us that once our names are written in the Book of Life, they cannot be erased. Jesus Himself said that no one can snatch us out of His hand. This is not a license for complacency, but a call to live lives that reflect the light of Christ, to trust, obey, and serve Him until He calls us home. Our lives should amplify Jesus, shining His light to those around us. For those who have not yet made the decision to follow Christ, the invitation remains open, but the urgency is real—after death, the decision is final.
We are all works in progress, continually growing and maturing in faith. God’s will for us is to trust Him, obey Him, and serve Him, glorifying Him with our lives. The assurance of salvation is not just a comfort for the future, but a foundation for living with purpose and hope today.

``You have eternal life. Everyone has eternal life. Consider that everyone has eternal life. The only question is, where are you going to spend it? So today some of you have a choice. You can spend eternal life with Jesus or you can spend eternity in a lake of fire. [00:02:56] (24 seconds) #chooseeternitywisely
I want you to realize when you're facing the world, your back is toward Jesus. When you turn to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you're back. You've turned away from the sins of the world. When you turn your back on worldly ways, you cannot face a sinful world and Jesus at the same time. And the greatest sin is disbelief in God and the rejection of Jesus and the rejection of the Holy Spirit. [00:15:31] (31 seconds) #turntowardJesusonly
So Baptists like to say Southern Baptists especially like to say, once saved, always saved. I hope you believe that because the Bible tells us that first, God is omnipotent, he's all powerful, and he's faithful in providing for our salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Nothing else will do it. Our works are our deeds. No matter how good we think we are, we deserve death in hell, eternal life in hell. But because of our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we are guaranteed life with him in heaven and in Jerusalem. [00:19:24] (46 seconds) #onceSavedAlwaysSavedTruth
I know I'm saved because the moment I asked Jesus into my life, something else happened. Jesus sent his helper, the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit came into my life that moment to guide me. He helps me understand and discern right from wrong. He advises me. This was promised me in John 14. And then at the same time, the moment I was saved, I became a new person. Our lives should amplify Jesus, our God. Our lives should mirror Jesus, his light. The light of Jesus should be shining out from me and shining out from you every day if you're saved. But I'll tell you this. If you're not saved, there's no good in you. Because only good comes from God. [00:29:20] (30 seconds) #reflectJesuslight
God's will for my life, as I shared a few months ago, is to trust, obey and serve. Because the purpose of me being here is to glorify God with my life. When I die, I know where I'm going. Where are you today in your Christian walk? [00:29:55] (25 seconds) #trustobeyserve
When are you going to die? I think that's a good question. When are you going to die? Because after you die, the decision has been made for your life already. We've had friends die recently. Shocking. I wasn't ready. They weren't ready. My dad died at 84. I'll be 80 here in a couple of months. I don't know when I'm going to die, but I know where I'm going. Do you know. Do you remember when you gave your life to Jesus? Is your name written in the book of life? Have you actually made the choice between Jesus and eternity in hell and the lake of fire? Well, here's the funny thing. If you have not chosen Jesus yet, you've already made your choice and it's not good. So maybe today. Maybe today is the right day to make that decision.
