#PrayerIsTheEvent
“``When we treat prayer like it's something we do before the real event, when we treat prayer like it's just a way to send God our request, I wanna say this clearly. Man, you're missing out. I have a different question for you. This ought to hit. Sitting is long enough for it to hit. Okay? If God answered all of your prayers, would this world even be different? I want you to think about this. If God answered every one of your prayers, would the world out there know it? Would they see it? The unfortunate truth is far too many believers treat prayer like it's the national anthem before the real event, and they're not treating it like the real event.”

#PrayersThatChangeTheWorld
“If God answered all of your prayers, would that mean lost people got saved? Would that mean that unchurched people found a church that actually ministers to and disciples them? If God answered all of your prayers, would we as a church have a greater reach in this community? If God answered your prayers, would we see more disciple makers in our midst? You remember the mission of the church? Go ye therefore into all the nations, teach them to obey, make disciples. And and and and and it implies that you make disciples who turn around and make disciples who turn around and make disciples turn around and make disciples. If God answered your prayers, would that happen?”

#NoMorePrayerChecklists
“You do know that the national anthem has nothing to do with the game. Right? Nothing. Far too many believers treat prayer like it's the national anthem, like it's the perfunctory prelude to eating. Getting ready to eat a meal, gotta pray. We're getting ready to go on a road trip, we gotta pray. Like, it's just the part of like, the national anthem, like, I love it. But far too often, we just treat it as just check the box. We have to have this thing. And if we're not careful, our prayer lives become that same thing.”

#RealPrayerPartners
“What I'm talking about is you got a struggle in your life. Who can you count on? Can I go to Clayton and say, hey, Clayton? Like, does he know already? Oh, yeah. I remember. We talked about this. Man, I gotcha. Who's your Peter, James, and John that you're gonna take up on the mountain? Is there anybody? I'm intentionally letting it sit a little bit. Because far too many churches in America have pews full of people happy to just show up on a Sunday morning and warm that pew and to go home thinking everything's great. I we're in a real spiritual battle. Like, who's in your shield wall? Who can you count on? Who do you have a deep enough relationship that you could say, brother, I am struggling today. And you know that that guy's getting on his knees tonight?”

#StayAlertPrayTogether
“That also should hit a little bit harder. Jesus simply wanted them there with him is what I think. He wanted his brothers there awake and praying near him. If Jesus didn't go it alone, why would you or I think that we should too or should try to go it alone? One of the saddest things that I see at churches, again, and I and I'm not pointing fingers. I'm just broad stroking here of of but it's how unrelational churches can be. He says, stay alert for all the believers. Be persistent for all the believers.”

#WatchfulPrayerGuardians
“Staying alert means to be watchful to stay awake. I want you to think about the night watchman. If you were in the medieval times and you were you were commissioned to be a night watchman on the walls of the castle to protect all of them. The night watchman is not staying awake for himself. He's staying awake for the people he's been entrusted to. When Paul says, stay alert, he's saying, stay awake. I want you to think about Jesus in the Garden Of Gethsemane. Why did he invite Peter, James, and John? Was it because his prayers would be ineffective without Peter, James, and John? No. He's the Christ. He's the Messiah. He's the holy one. He is God. He didn't need them, but he wanted them.”

#PrayFirstNotLast
“First response or last resort. When do you come to prayer? When you encounter that difficult season of life, when when you hit that road bump, when you get smacked by that dodgeball, is it a last resort, or is it your first response? Does prayer come after you've already blown everything up? Paul tells us to pray at all times and on every occasion. At all times, every opportunity, that's when we pray.”

#EmbraceTheHolySpirit
“Like, one of the things that bugs me the most about the American church today is how many people and preachers and churches are deficient in not preaching the fullness of who, how, how our holy spirit is in scriptures. Like, right there. The holy spirit helps us in our weaknesses. How many of you have a weakness? You need Holy Spirit. I wanna say this clearly. If you're a believer, you have Holy Spirit. It's not about receiving Holy Spirit again some later. It's a big experience later in life. It's just simply plugging it in.”
