#AddressDontGossip
“``I have some gossip for you. They don't say it like I have some juicy gossip for you. They say, I'm concerned about this thing. Yep. And yet it's not because if you were really concerned about this thing, and I said this to some people, you need to go talk to your brother or sister. Yep. You don't need to come talk to about this. Right. But even then, think that's where we need to protect ourselves. So often they'll avoid what the Bible calls the believer to do, and then they'll come gossip to the pastor. And then the pastor, whether we like to admit it or not, we still have a natural predisposition in our own hearts to like the gossip.”

#ConfrontWithKindness
“I I who I forget who said it. Or they were like, I would much rather not be my kid's friend now Right. In the hopes that I can be their friend later in life. Like, I would rather be, like, be their friend later than be their friend right now. And I think that's a I think that's important, but and I would say within the church. Yeah. My mind went to a conversation that Jesus had with the woman at the well. Yeah. I don't think he was nice. Oh, he was he was confrontational with the woman. Very confrontational and very but he was kind. Yeah. He was kind because he knew her heart and wanted her to know. Yeah. I mean, he had her interest in mind in the conversation he had, but it wasn't a very nice conversation.”

#ChurchAccountability
“And yet Matthew 18 clearly says, if a brother sins against you, you need to go tell that brother. And persists, if you need to go with another brother so that there can be a witness with that accusation. And if they still persist, then it needs to be brought before the body. And if you think about it, if that's a command by Christ himself, either churches are so perfect that people stop sinning immediately when they're confronted by it. Yeah. I don't I don't Or we just don't do it because we're afraid we're gonna hurt people's feelings or we're gonna make people feel uncomfortable. And that's an indictment, I think, against pastors where it's like we're commanded by this, by Jesus to do this thing”

#FightForTheFaith
“And and that's exactly what I was gonna say because you know what? She wasn't being attacked in that moment. No. That's fighting the good fight. Yeah. That's fighting That's what Paul was talking is what God says. We do not hide or shrink about what God says, what the Gospel is. That isn't someone, oh, that's a quarrelsome woman in the church. No. That is someone fighting the good fight. It's not it's not stringing up useless controversies. It's not trying to see a fight started, but it's saying, I am gonna defend the word of God. That goes right back to what he was saying. He was she wasn't defending herself. Mm-mm. Yeah. It's not defending her. Her faith. Yeah. And and defending not only her faith, but the faith. The faith. And that's where I think, like and this is where I would say whenever we look at this and I think that's a really good point that you made when we're talking about fighting. If somebody attacks Jesus or God or the word of God, we need to be ready to just lay it all on the line and say, absolutely not. This is what I'm going to defend till my dying breath. Right.”
