God loves you too much to just take it because if he does then you're going to repeat patters you're going to do this so even if he doesn't take it even if um it doesn't go the way you think it should there's a reason for it and God loves you too much to just take something away without teaching you and helping you grow and learn so just something to think about. [00:30:31]

Our main point for today is God's word provides an anchor for believers, empowering us to discern truth in a world of confusion and guiding us through life storms with Clarity and Assurance. God's word provides the anchor this anchor allows us to discern truth and guides us and holds us through the storm. [00:33:31]

Peter writing to encourage dispersed scattered Believers to not just be anchored in hope he's writing to them to be anchored with the right hope Jesus Christ to the right place the word of God and he's telling them that they can know that they have that beginning in verse 16 of chapter 1 of second Peter. [00:37:01]

We did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of Our Lord Lord Jesus Christ instead we were eyewitnesses of his majesty for he received honor and Glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from The Majestic Glory saying this is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased. [00:39:02]

Peter knows what he believes is true because he was an eyewitness and there were enough eyewitnesses to prove that Christ came in miraculous power and paid the penalty for sin through his death burial and Resurrection Christ is the right anchor but Peter doesn't stop there he goes on to add more to that proof. [00:41:41]

Peter knows that Christ is the Messiah the eternally begotten Son of God fully God because of the immersive immens of power and honor and Glory residing in him yet fully man because he was born of a virgin God proclaiming honor and glory to himself as the father declares his majest Majestic glory to the son. [00:43:14]

The prophetic words of the Old Testament all point to a miraculous savior one who fulfills all the words of these Old Testament prophets and brings us true an hope Peter says you will do well to pay attention to it remember that last part of Matthew 17:5 The Voice from God the Father saying listen to him. [00:47:05]

When doubt starts to creep up on you go back to the word of God and use it as your lamp pay attention to the word of God as it reveals more and more of the faith that is provided in that equal measure that we saw early on in the chapter that means you have to read and study God's word. [00:49:50]

The third way that we can be sure that God's word is true is its divine inspiration verses 20 and 21 point at the prophecy of verse 19 and Peter says that this prophecy was n some dreamed up thought of some man it was the divinely inspired words of God and Peter says you know this. [00:51:50]

Peter here points to the forn knowledge of God required for these prophets to write the prophecies hundreds of years before they were fulfilled God provided the prophecy through these men he guided them to the Anchor Point and God did it so that you and I could be secure in the sure anchor of Christ. [00:54:57]

God's word provides an anchor for believers empowering us to discern truth in a world of confusion and guiding us through life storms with Clarity and Assurance you know what's truly wonderful about an anchor whether you're in hard Seas or smooth Seas the anchor is there to hold you in place. [00:56:10]

Christ is the sure and steady anchor of the believer's faith he is the correct anchor we are anchored to the word of God through him who saves and redeems and holds us and when we receive the faith that he provides in equal measure we are held secure in the storms of life where have you placed your anchor.
