#ChurchRestoration
“``Even with fallen pastors, my heart for them is that there's reconciliation, that there's healing and redemption and restoration just like I believe for you. He does something in the world, church, when we get this, when we do church how he's designed. There's a different kingdom he's calling in in us into. There's a different way he's asking us to live, a different way. So don't not prioritize the church because you've been hurt. You'll be hurt at McDonald's tomorrow. Don't write off the church. The church is life and community and family, and families are messy and families are hard, but families are wonderful.”

#AccountableLeadership
“It's why we actually, as a church, are slow to give titles and slow to put people into place. We have a board of overseers, and we have boards of directors, and we have a whole full leadership team that hold accountability here. We actually have two binders full of processes that if anything was to happen or there was any accusations like what Paul's talking about would immediately go into place within those board structures. Here's the thing, church. There is no church that is perfect. There is no leader that is perfect, and none of us in this room are perfect. And yet, for some reason, God has put all this together, and it's beautiful and powerful when healthy and all our hearts stay soft towards one another.”

#LeadWithAccountability
“Here's what the scripture shows. It doesn't just mean that we put our heads in the sand and say everything's great and all leaders are wonderful because we know that there's been messy things that are happening in the church. It's why here at Evolve, we actually have worked hard at creating systems of putting leaders and pastors in place with expectations and accountability. It talks about in the scripture not rushing into putting people into leadership and using wisdom for the church is important. And, yes, there should be a higher degree of accountability on leaders.”

#HealAndRekindleFaith
“So here's my question for you. How is your heart? How is your care towards spiritual leaders right now? I actually believe that there's healing in the room. God wants to heal some of your hearts today where there's been wounds and maybe even you've got a little jaded, a little edgy, a little hard. Oh, I pray your heart becomes soft again, and you fall in love with the bride. You fall in love with the church again. With the extended family you're supposed to be cared for and loved by, and that you're supposed to care for and love through.”

#HonorTheCalling
“Coming to church isn't work. Serving and being the family is just being the family. It's about gathering. It's about turning our hearts. There's such a lack of honor for pastors and leaders in our world. It used to be a cool thing to be a pastor. There used to be people that were signing up to lay their life down to be in the church. Now you barely wanna say that you're a pastor. We need to come back to the heart of God for the family of faith, how we treat each other, how we were designed to thrive and to be a beacon of hope in this world, not only to our own families, but to the family of God and to the world we live in.”

#MakeTimeForFamily
“I don't know about you, but there's always something going on, and and that it's easy to say that we're busy. And and yet how much time am I actually making for my great grandparents who are in a senior home right now? How much time am I making for my own parents? Has my life gotten so fast that I've lost the heart of what Paul is saying that doing life in community is the best? And maybe you don't have your own family. Maybe you have a broken family. Maybe you're like what n t Wright talked about, like a blended family, and I just wanna encourage you that there is room for you to be a part of not just that family that you came from, but also the family of God.”

#TeachWorkNotHandouts
“We don't think of it that way. We think we should just be giving handouts and and and and going wherever. And and there is a a certain degree of that, but there's something that that Paul's actually pulling out here. It talks about in the scripture that if they have the ability to have a job, let's teach them how to have a job. If we just keep giving handouts as the church, we're not helping to disciple them. We're not helping to teach life skills. We're not helping to make them part of value and community that they can serve and give back. That's what the church is about. We're about the full picture.”

#ChoosePresence
“Does your surrender with time and money and resource and gifts and your whole life? Is there something that God wants to speak to you through that? Maybe it's even a sensing right now that the Holy Spirit is convicting you around making more time for the care of your own family, just showing up and being present. Sometimes we're with the people we love and we're not even present. We're distracted. We're in another world. We're on our phones. But what would it look like to shut all of that down and actually be present? What would it look like to carve out time for the older generation? And what would it look like for you to maybe make time for his church, to be part of a greater family? Maybe you're not serving or on a team yet or part of a small group. I wanna encourage you. That's the best way to sense family and to be known and to be cared for.”
