“``The same is true with salvation. It's available. It's laying right there. God's offered it to you. Will you take it? Or will you, as Paul did for many years, and many of us have done, try to earn your way to God, try to earn his respect, practice that same kind of idolatry that paganistic religions practice in trying to earn the god's favor by whatever acts of religious devotion or whatever you do. Do you think you can do earn it? No. You can't earn it. You can't manipulate god into accepting you into his kingdom and his family. He's already done everything that's necessary. It's not about manipulation, it's about surrender and trust.”

“And then he met Jesus and everything shifted because he understood salvation wasn't about what we do, it's about what God has done. Salvation begins and ends with the creator, with the savior. He did it all. So, well, I no. I no. It's not about what I did. It's about what he did. I accept what he did for me. I trust my life to what he did for me. I surrender to what he's done. It's what he has done. The wages of sin is dead, but the free gift of God. What does the word free mean?”

#LiveYieldedToGod
“but instead present yourselves to to God as those alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. That every aspect of who we are, we should yield to the will of our heavenly father. This life that you and I have been given, the breath that we have, every moment that we have is to be yielded to God's will, God's purposes, God's desires. Right? That's what it means to be a disciple, to be a follower of Christ, that we are seeking to follow him in even the mundane things of life, even the things that we sometimes think aren't that important. Sometimes those are almost more important than what we do in our religious activities. It's not about religious activities as much as is it about yielding one's personality, personhood, and one's activities, one's heart fully to God. Because once the heart and mind are yielded to God, that begins to shape the way that we live, doesn't it?”

“And then there's a twist on this obviously because some people will take that and say, well, if I'm not under the law, I don't have to obey the law. Right? That's what they would say. That was the flip side of that. And some have tried to say that in some of the groups even in Paul's day that we've talked about and others tried to say, well, since we're not since we're saved by God's grace, it doesn't matter how we live so we can do what we want. And Paul is saying, yes. You are not under the law. You're under the grace of God, but that does not exempt you from living a life that honors God.”
