Many times, that is also how we are to God. We tell God, "God, I'm prioritizing you. You're the number one person in my life. You are most important to me," but many times, the choices we make, the decisions we make, the time that we spend don't necessarily reflect what we have said.

Putting God at the center of your life is like living in oxygen. You know, if there is no oxygen, you will not live. Make sense? I'm sure if you are drowning, your priority is to breathe. Because you know, if you don't have that, you're not going to survive. So it is with God.

To put God at priorities means He is the center of everything. In other words, you need to understand that if God is my priority, my life will revolve around God. Make sense? And I hope that is something that you and I will understand.

When our priorities are misplaced, they lead us to messy lives. That's just the reality. Even as simple as other aspects of your life. When what is important is jumbled, you realize that. Right? Your studies, you don't prioritize your studies, you realize that. Your health, you don't make it a priority, you get sick. You know, that's not different with spiritual things. With our spiritual life with the Lord.

If we let small distractions take priority over just a simple study time, imagine how that can actually take away or eat away what belongs to God. Your quiet time becomes a five-minute phone, your prayer time becomes just one more episode. And then later on, you fall asleep. And before we know it, we only give God leftovers. That is, if there is anything left.

Is Christ worth your effort and discomfort? Times such as this make us think again because that's when it really comes out what really is our priority.

Is God important enough for us to say He deserves our discomfort because He is our God? Discomfort, just like sleep, is a test of priority. The things that make it difficult for us yet we choose to do it, it shows that that thing is important to you.

I realized, many times, our priorities in life are also like puzzles. It's how you actually put them together that will make the big picture better. But many times, priorities won't work if the pieces are jumbled. If you put them straight, it will work and it will look good. And you know what's also very important about priorities like a puzzle? It won't be complete if there is a missing piece. [00:01:31]

When you truly desire to follow me, to make me a priority in your life, it will not be easy. He was saying that when you will make me your priority and follow me, there will be changes that will happen in your life. And when those changes happen, you cannot just add in Jesus. There are things that you have to let go. There are things that you have to eliminate. You cannot just stay the same and add Jesus. It doesn't work when we make God our priority. [00:09:02]

When you commit to follow me, there will be things that you have to give up. There will be things that you need to cut off. There will be things that will be uncomfortable. And that is the first hindrance that you and I would want to be aware of. That many times, the things that can hinder our priority, making God our priority, is this one: discomforts. [00:09:41]

How many times have you also said to God, we will do whatever you tell us, Lord? But, in the end, what really happens is we only choose what is convenient, what is not too much hassle, and we don't really build ourselves into the uncomfortable. [00:10:28]

It's not that we pursue difficulty in life. It doesn't mean that we become poor in life. But what Jesus is trying to tell us is that if you will make me a priority, you need to learn to endure, to persevere. It is in facing challenges that reveal who is really of prime importance to us, right? [00:15:00]

Urgency is proof of importance. If you see something that is important to you, you will put urgency to it. And so, I want us to remember, delayed obedience is still disobedience. [00:24:20]

If you see something that is important to you, you will put urgency to it. Right? And so, I want us to remember, delayed obedience is still disobedience. Right? With things we know God wants us to do now, and yet we say, next time, it's like telling God, I couldn't care less. [00:24:22]

Distractions work like that. They are dangerous because they don't feel dangerous. You feel like you're just having some fun. But the reality is, distractions drain you from what is most important. They drain your energy, they drain your time, they drain a lot of things because you miss out what is truly important. [00:31:32]

When you and I get distracted, we actually trade what's important for what is immediate. We trade what is important to what is immediate. When you think about it, or will I say, oh, the immediate that maybe is exciting, but it's not really important, or the important stuff. [00:32:00]

When prioritizing God, remember, it is telling God that He is first place. First place in your decisions, first place in your choices, first place in your pursuits. And when I say priority, it is He is not part of your priority. He is your number one priority. [00:36:16]

It is not the things we do occasionally that makes the difference. It is what we do consistently. In other words, what I'm trying to encourage you to do, making God a priority in your life, it doesn't happen overnight. It doesn't happen just because I want it now. It builds through the consistency of our life, upward and lived in the Lord. [00:38:31]

You cannot grow what you do not cultivate. Catch that? You cannot grow what you do not cultivate. And I hope your priority for God is what you will cultivate all the more. [00:38:58]

Remember young people, that making God a priority demands our radical commitment, unwavering discipline, persistency, urgency, and consistency. [00:39:22]

You know what is a life that exemplifies God as our priority? When we say to our life and to everyone, God is my all, before all, and above all. I hope that is something that you will say to everyone. God is my all, before all, and above all. [00:39:35]

I hope that God will occupy the first and the center of everything in your life. I pray that He will be important enough that He will not be put aside. In fact, I hope that He will be important enough that you will see Him worthy of your sacrifice. You know why? Because God saw you worthy to die for. [00:40:01]

Imagine if Jesus said, "It's too uncomfortable to die. Never mind." Imagine if Jesus says, "Next time." Until it never happened, He stepped on the cross. Or perhaps Jesus was so occupied about miracles, about doing other things, and forgot that He needed to die. What would that end up for us? But you know what? Jesus did what He did because He had in mind the priorities of God. And that is us to be saved in His love, in His grace. [00:40:23]

Rather, your desire, my desire, is to give back the favor to the Lord that because of what He did, He will be center of our life. And you realize that He is worth your faithfulness more than anything or anyone that this world has to offer. May God be number one, the center of your life. [00:41:12]
