Aligning Hearts: The Transformative Power of Prayer

1) "Prayer is not so much my list of things that I'm asking God for, but prayer is actually something that shifts my heart towards him. Right. I believe that if there was anything planning, it was not spiritual or anything that was not spirit led. It was like super lame. And again, I'm not against spontaneity because obviously the Holy Spirit moves and he says, jump. And we say, say how high, right? It's like we, if he says something, we're going to go there because it's always better, right? It's always better to go where the Holy Spirit's going because he knows better." 2) "Everything, everything that he gives us is to make us look more and more like him. That's the bottom line. There's benefits to that. Obviously he's been there. He's been there. He's been there. He's been there. He does bless us and he does love us and he does take care of us and he's always good. Because I had that, that view of prayer, no wonder I didn't value the Lord's prayer, right? 3) "Prayer does not change God. It changes me. I'm the one who needs to be changed, reoriented, not God. You guys remember that verse where the, or that part in the gospels where the disciples are trying to cast the demon out of the young boy and they can't do it. And then they come to Jesus like, your disciples weren't able to do it. And then he's like, no, well, this one only comes out by prayer and fasting." 4) "Marriage, what's the purpose of marriage? So we always think like, I'm just going to find my soulmate and be happy forever. Yes. I'm very happily married. 5) "The sacraments, prayer, disciplines, they don't change God. They don't convince God. They change my heart. You guys ever been, you know, take your kids to the beach and you're like playing or whatever and you're, you know, you remember like a young kid, anybody who grew up around here, you're out in the water and you're just playing for hours in the surf. And then, you know, you're, you're, you know, little camps there. You got your umbrellas and whatever. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit and the perfect lamb was already slain. He was already slain. And he's the perfect lamb and he's our perfect high priest.
