#SalvationIsOfTheLord
“``Because Jonah's problem wasn't that he didn't know God. Jonah's problem was that he knew God, but he didn't like what God was doing. But Jonah gives the answer, salvation is of the Lord. That means that God who saved Jonah can save the person you don't think deserves saving. That means the God who showed mercy to Jonah can show you your your enemy mercy as well. That means the god who pursued Jonah when Jonah was running, can also pursue you and everybody else as they're running. And the god who wouldn't give up on Jonah will not give up on you and me. You may be running from god today, but you're never running beyond his reach. We can run from God, but the fact of the matter is if we're his children, we can never outrun his grace.”

#GodIsPursuingYou
“Jonah got on a ship because he thought he could outrun God, but God sent a storm, then God sent a fish, and what Jonah thought would end his life became the means to save his life. That's grace. God didn't let Jonah drown. God didn't abandon Jonah. God didn't throw Jonah away. God pursued Jonah the whole time. And maybe the greatest truth you need to hear today is God is still pursuing you. And the reason he's pursuing you is he wants a relationship with you, and he wants to use you, and he wants you to get back up and go again.”

#MercyInTheStorm
“You see, the storm may be his mercy. The conviction you're feeling in your soul may be his grace. The interruption you've been experiencing in your life has been god's means to get your attention because god isn't simply interested in changing where Jonah goes. God wants to change Jonah's heart, and that's where the story becomes personal. Because perhaps the question isn't, where are you running? But the better question is, what are you running from and why?”

#WhoIsYourNineveh
“our greatest resistance to following through on God's will may come when God wants to bless someone we don't think deserves it. So I ask you this morning, who is your Nineveh? Who is your Nineveh? Who is the person that you don't want forgiven? Who is the family member that you don't want restored? Who is the person who hurts you? Who is the person whose politics you despise? Who is the person whose lifestyle you disagree with? Who is the person who treated you unfairly? Who is the person you secretly believe deserves judgment than mercy.”
