“but when you, through the power of the Holy Spirit, instead of acting like that, you show love and joy and peace and forbearance, which just means patience. And you show kindness and you treat people good and you show faithfulness and you show gentleness and you show self control, that's the power of the Holy Spirit using you as a witness to the power of God. And we all have those opportunities every day because every day we are in situations whether it be at work, whether it be at home, whether it be at school, where there are people showing those acts of the flesh, cursing one another out, hating on one another, violence against one another, and we get to be a living witness showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.”

“the Jews were now doing to Paul what Paul had done to Christians. Right? Paul, according to the Jewish Old Testament, said, hey. You're blaspheming the name of God, so you should be killed because blasphemy was punishable by death. Now Paul was preaching the name of Jesus as God, so the Jews said, hey. You're blaspheming the name of God, so you need to be punishable or punished by death as well. So here's the thing, Matt. I I need I need to point this out because and I'm not trying to justify this, but they thought, just like Paul thought, hey, I'm doing the right thing in the name of God by killing these people. They thought I'm doing the right thing in the name of God by trying to kill Paul. And there are people today who think, hey. I'm doing the right thing in the name of God by hating and by wanting to kill and wanting to demean and tear down people who don't think like me or look like me or have the same beliefs as me. But here's the thing, Christianity has no room for hating others in the name of Jesus.”

“``We live in a world where the normal reaction, the normal action, what comes out of the flesh of most people are sexually immoral things, impure things, debauchery, idolatry, worship of false things, witchcraft, discord, jealousy, fits of rage. That's why we keep seeing more and more violence, more and more division, more and more crazy stuff on the news. Selfish ambitions, dissensions, means just division, factions, and envies, and drunkenness, and orgies, and all that stuff. That's what we see out of the world, but when you, through the power of the Holy Spirit, instead of acting like that, you show love and joy and peace and forbearance, which just means patience. And you show kindness and you treat people good and you show faithfulness and you show gentleness and you show self control, that's the power of the Holy Spirit using you as a witness to the power of God.”

“So God uses the power of the Holy Spirit, and it's throughout the Bible to point people to God, to confirm the word of God, to equip people, to tell others about God. But here's the thing. Right? In that area, what God said he wanted to happen was happening, but God said he also wants it to happen to the ends of the earth. And although, yes, this is a verse that specifically applies to them, it also applies to us because we have if you stepped across the line of faith and put your faith in Jesus Christ, you have God's holy spirit in you. That does not mean that you're gonna go heal people or raise people from the dead and do that kind of miracle to be a witness to God, but you can go help someone through the power of the holy spirit, and that's God using you to be a witness.”
