“``By the way, it shouldn't even be a close second. We could I'll just use the bible as an illustration, but, you know, we could put God on the top shelf. But it should be, okay, he's first, everything else is way below. Actually, my favorite way to put it, it isn't even God first and then others. It's God, it's everything. My everything is you. Following you is my entire life. If you want me to follow you by having a family, okay. You want me to follow you by being single, okay. You want me to follow you by being a pastor, okay. You want me to follow you by, again, a lawyer, what whatever, God's okay. But it's not even that those other priorities are almost as important. It's that it's all about God.”

“How could Stephen keep his focus in that moment on God? It's two things. I do believe, and there's a lot of evidence throughout history of this, that God will give dying grace. Someone goes to become a martyr, if God forbid. I mean, I I hope and pray that doesn't happen to any of us, and we're not called to that. But someone goes to me, you read about people being burned at the stake, horrible deaths, and they're able to sing in the flame. God does give grace. But how are Stephen and others and even throughout more modern history, how are they able to do that to go boldly to their to meet their savior, go boldly to death? They were living for Jesus all along.”

“Are you willing to some to surrender your life as a Christian? Can't earn your salvation, but as a Christian, are you willing to do whatever God wants for you to do? And as is often done, they went through, are you willing to surrender to ministry? Maybe some young men got called to preach that day. That's awesome. To be a missionary, maybe some young men, some young women got called to be a missionary that day. But I loved how it was also to to be a godly lawyer, to be a godly I forget what all examples were given. I remember lawyer. But to do whatever we have, will you yield your life to God? Will you do whatever God wants you to do? I hope we will. And that's a daily choice for us. There's no better life we could possibly live. You heard on the video, the camp speaker saying basically this, no better life we can possibly live than what Jesus has for us. It's a daily choice.”

“Let's say, God, it's all yours. How do you want me to use this to honor and glorify you? They sadly did the exact opposite of that. Moses is literally up on Mount Sinai getting the law and they turn to idol worship. It wasn't that Stephen had ever spoken against the law or against the temple, but against the way Israel worshiped the temple of God instead of the God of the temple. The law had a main purpose, to show people their imperfections and their need for the savior. Paul describes the law as being a schoolmaster, to teach them that they needed God.”
